Everybody knows and use or have used Helvetica, it's one of the most famous and used typeface in the world. It's so famous that there is a movie about it.

It's been a few months since we started allowing readers to sign up for their own abduzeedo user account, and we are pleased to announce that almost 1,000 readers have signed up. We are very happy and want to continue improving the blog with good content and useful features for the design community.

Ok, I admit my work is hugely inspired by motion graphics and I wanted to share with you some of my greatest influences in this field. It amazes me how each single frame is a super piece of illustrative work, and to think how many frames it takes to make a ‘piece’ is truly mind boggling. MK12

Wow... it's like watching a SciFi movie about cosmic rays, sunlight or maybe gamma radiation. I'm talking about the experiments of Alan Jaras, a "light photographer", on flickr.

In this tutorial I will show how to create curtains and other nice effects in Photoshop. When I was traveling I was always thinking about some ideas for wallpapers for Abduzeedo. Concepts that would show what the blog is about and of course, related to the Space subject. That was when I had this idea of an alien behind curtains. Anyway, for this tutorial we will use some images from iStockphoto and Google Images, and as usual some neat lighting effects. You probably know how to create some of the effects but it's a good exercise on how to turn an idea into an image.

As the saying goes, two heads are better than one. But with 50+ heads, you can only imagine what can be achieved, especially in the creative realms of design.

Probably the greatest thing about writing to a big blog is that you always get to know some cool artist from around the world. Chris Roth, an american artist recently sent us an email linking this site, and it was really worth the visit.

There are excellent articles on the web showing beautiful patterns applied on websites, wallpaper, fabrics and other things and I really like patterns and admire the designers that are master on this craft. Because of that I will list below 10 great surface pattern designers and some examples of their work. Also if you have suggestions of other designers leave a comment and let us know.
