Patrick Monkel is the author of the wallpaper featured on this week's Wallpaper of the Week section. His design is a composition blending photos and a few color gradients, producing an outstanding effect. We asked if Patrick could share with us a case study showing how he did that, so, fortunately for us, he was very kind and did that :)
In this post we will show you the secret behind Patrick Monkel's wallpaper of ther week.
Today we will show you some great illustrations and a small bio from a Brazilian artist, Thiago Pena. For us it is really a pleasure to show artists from our Country, specially artists with great pieces as the ones you will see here. Thiago's illustrations are really unique. They have a different style, and the lines and shades are great. His drawings are a bit dark, they express a whole parallel atmosphere that get our attention immediately.
Retro horror movies posters are pretty sweet, and designing them requires much more than just checking references and all that. The best reference to make a killer horror movie poster is to actually watch some old B horror movies!
One thing I love about design is the variety of things one single designer does nowadays. Everyone is multi-task, and also does lots of cool stuff, like this one designer, Grzegorz Domaradzki. He's work is pretty amazing.

I can't even keep count of how many times I've posted about posters before (haha, that sounds weird…) but I really never get sick of seeing new stuff! Last night I was cruising through ffffound for the first time in a long time and found some sweet new posters practically just asking to be featured in a post! I had to do it! Sorry, folks, here goes another one..
Aled Lewis, also known as fatheed, is a graphic design based in London with some very sharp illustration skills. He has quite a few t-shirts printed at Threadless.com and other tee's sites. I love his style and how funny some of the illustrations are, such as the King Kong, Marion, the one of the fake man on the Moon scene.
