I was worried for a little while that my office was blocking the site, in which I would have to cry and I visit daily, multiple times a day. -Host Upon - its a really fast server
-Host Monster - from what i hear its a pretty good platform to host
-Inmotion Hosting - good hosters, but mainly for business websites

Then there is:
-Goddaddy.com - mid/low range hardware
-JHServers - low range hardware tho

But the "top of the line" if you ask me has to be:
http://www.apiservers.com/ but they are pricey

For hosting I would recommend http://www.hostmonster.com/ with a price of $4.95 a month. customer responses are great. Unlimited webspace and traffic + another free URL (which you probably won't need :D).
The only thing limited is actually the number of mysql-databases (max. 100)

... I'm hosting my site on a private server here at home. I like the direct access and the fact that I have the server "roght in my hands"

SWEET! I was wondering what was goin' on the past few days. Having to upgrade servers is a pain but having so much traffic that you NEED to upgrade is awesome! I hear good things about MediaTemple, though their kind of $$$$$ (for me anyway), a friend of mine uses them and loves it tho.
