Absolutely Stunning 3D Typography

Typography is one of those fields of design that really get my attention. Checking some sweet types, from all kinds, is a total pleasure for me, but there's one kind that get the most of my attention, and it is 3D typography.
Mostly used in Motion Graphics, 3D Typography is usually really beautiful. But there's the cases where it's not CG, but real solid typogaphy, like the pipe one below. Anyways, I find these absolutely stunning, and I really hope you enjoy them! Cheers. ;)

In the Apache world, you might be familiar with tweaking your config file(s) and then running $ apachectl configtest to see if the config parses. I would say a lot of this is done using a 3D program Maya, Light wave, Blender. Not just Photoshop or illustrator. So to all those asking for tutorials, it may be prudent to have some skill in said 3D applications.
The Purchase Brothers have a great 3D logo that is always great to watch. They did a Halflife 2 fan video, and as a designer, one of my favorite parts of the video was their 3D logo animation... Youtube it!
Great examples.. I love 3D typography, its a shame that GIMP doesn't have the feature to work on it directly like Photoshop, I gotta do it in Blender and import.
