Beautiful Introspective Photography

December 08, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

One of the main reasons why I love photography so much, is that it captures introspective moments so well. Some people might think that being introspective means that you're sad, but they're wrong. Being introspective is much more... is looking inside yourself, looking at your soul. These moments are awesome.

I know that some of you might not even enjoy these moments, by taking a good look inside you from time to time is a good way to clean things, put things in order. And thanks to photogaphy, there are introspective photography not only for people, but for animals and any other thing too. I guess that's the magic of it. Anything is possible. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my brief selection of pictures, and please, visit each photographer's page. Support creativity. Cheers! ;)

New Quicktime Icon in Photoshop
New Quicktime Icon in Photoshop
Apple is about to release their new version of Mac OS X, code-named as Snow Leopard. With this new release there will be a totally new version of Quicktime. One thing that is really cool is the new icon for the app. Because of that I decided to play a bit with Photoshop to reproduce the effect. Step 1 Open a new document in Photoshop, I used 512x512 pixels. Then start adding some guides using squares for references. They will be useful to create the circles. With the Ellipse Tool (U) create a circle.

Book Suggestion: Why We Buy - The Science of Shopping
The book of this week is not a design book per se but it's an incredible book. I have just finished it and I got so much valuable information that can be applied in my day to day job as designer. The book is called Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping--Updated and Revised for the Internet, the Global Consumer, and Beyond by Paco Underhill.
