Beautifully Designed Products by Patricia Naves

June 08, 2010 from GisMullr's blog

I bumped into Patricia's work at Design Milk and as soon as I saw the beautiful bread shaped holders/coasters she designed I jumped to her website to check out further pieces from her. And at oiti.com.br (her website), I found several beautifully designed products! So I got in touch with Patricia to get more info about her and her work to show here to you. Her pieces are elegant, modern and clean, which is everything I love in product design!

Patricia is a Brazilian architect/designer that has four passions in life: design, architecture, Scandinavia and Brazil. You will understand that later reading her own words. And as for me, I'm always very happy to show you guys more of our native talents, so now I present you Patricia Naves and her beautiful products. Don't forget to visit oiti to check out further pieces. Enjoy! :)

I grew up in a small apartment and I used to sleep in a 4m² bedroom. My mother thinks that my small bedroom started architecture in my life and I agree. In by small bedroom I managed to fit a bed, a double bed, a dresser, a side table and a desk. When I was 18, I lived in Australia for a year and I was impressed by the width of the side walks. I came back and got into University at the School of Architecture at UFMG. In my second year of school, I spent a few months in Finland. I got carried away by Scandinavian architecture and design. I realized that I would never be able to separate these things: design from architecture – Scandinavia from Brazil. Since then, I try to administrate these four passions in life. I graduated in 2002. In 2004, I started Oiti.

Last week I had posted an article about Photoshop Masters, it was really good to see their works and how they used the tool to achieve those amazing effects. I really like the style of some guys there, particularly Adhemas Baptista, Eduardo Recife and Nik Ainley. Now in this post, I created a really cool design mixing a photo with vector elements using Photoshop (lots of brushes) and Illustrator.
