The wallpaper of this week is a light effect I created a few weeks ago inspired by an XPeria ad I saw while I was waiting for a flight at the airport. Patrick Monkel is the author of the wallpaper featured on this week's Wallpaper of the Week section. His design is a composition blending photos and a few color gradients, producing an outstanding effect. Aled Lewis, also known as fatheed, is a graphic design based in London with some very sharp illustration skills. He has quite a few t-shirts printed at Threadless.com and other tee's sites. I love his style and how funny some of the illustrations are, such as the King Kong, Marion, the one of the fake man on the Moon scene.

I've been working and, you could say, living as a designer for over 12 years now. Throughout these years a lot has happened, all of which caused me to grow as a designer and learn new things. In the beginning I had a vague idea of what was necessary to get better and succeed in the design industry, but it took me quite a few years to discover some basic concepts that really made me become a better designer. It's been quite a long time since our last Video of the Week post, mostly because we've been featuring amazing videos in our Daily Inspirations, and this video is not different. We have already posted it in one DI, but a lot of people have asked about it and as the author is a friend of ours, John Arlington. We contacted him and asked him to tell us a little bit more about how he made the video.

Stamatis Lasko is a visual artist from Volos Greece. We can seen in his portfolio some incredible paintings and street art graffitis. The portraits are very detailed and with a interesting movement and expressions. I have been researching for a personal project I am working on in characted design. While I was surfing on Behance I stumbled on the Johnathan Ball's profile, a digital artists from Newport, UK. I was really impressed by the quality of Jonathan's work. The 3D characters are very funny and well done. Also he has done work for big clients such as MTV, BBC, Sony, BBC and others.
