Fil Dunsky is an amazing illustrator from Khabarovsk, Russia, with an incredible talent specially when it comes to the use of colors and shades to create depth. I was totally impressed by Fil's work and for the clients he has worked for, companies such as Microsoft, Nestle, Adidas, Nike... you name it.That's why we decided to feature him here on Abduzeedo.

A few days ago I received an email from Thiago Daubt and he told me about this brazilian site called Desafios Photoshop Brasil. The site has a very active community and it's all about Photoshop challenges. Pretty much a Brazilian version of Worth1000.com. The cool thing about these sites is that you have a specific subject and some images to play and mix with to come up with your design. The best one wins.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a very nice text effect inspired by the colors and some light effects used in the work of a great digital artist who uses the name Empire. His work can be seen at empireisok.com.
Step 1
Open Pixelmator and create a new document; I used 800×600 pixels. Then with the Gradient Tool (G), fill the background layer with a gradient using black and dark grey.
The wallpaper of this week is awesome, it's the Tron Legacy artwork created by James White. Well I think James doesn't need introduction anymore. His work is amazing and this design is not different.
