Web Picks is a new series here on Abduzeedo. The idea of the articles is to choose a subject, and present photography, artwork, designs, illustrations and tutorials we find on the topic; and put them together. When designing we tend to forget to look at mediums other than the one we are currently working in.

Nowerdays there are tons of skatevideos out there. Skateboard was never as huge as now. And with all the good skaters out there who make awesome tricks you have to come with something new to impress the viewer. Lakai's Fully Flared movie is considered in the media to be the most innovative this year.

To come away from the digital arts, we won't forget the artists who actually draw artworks. It's much more difficult but you can also make world manipulations. Take a look at the work of Jacek Yerka. Making a painting is not an easy thing.

Im so excited. I had a car accident this weekend but it didn't matter when I saw the new features of Photoshop or After Effects CS4. It has awesome new features like the "Content-Aware Scaling" or the "3D painting and compositing" in Photoshop

DEFCOGRAFIKS is an awesome designer/grafitti artist. I'll present you the digital artworks another time, because you'll be amazed by the grafitti design he made. You dont find a lot of these artworks in the streets (or probably not in the streets in Hamburg)

We've shown you great HDR pictures and tutorials how to create your own. But this is the first time that we show you a full HDR movie. Chad Richard recorded the sunrise from the Twin Peaks in San Francisco. He is just one of a dozen Photographer in the world, that deals with this effect.

I really like german and american hip hop (but the real one, the roots, tupac, wutang and stuff) and Im always interested in freestyle rap. This is not a real design inspiration but sometimes you have to take a brake from working. GOOGLE VS. YAHOO

For the first time, there's an interview with a german designer. Heiko Klug, better known as Jesar One, is an awesome 25-year old german graphic designer. Like a lot of artists he also started with doing graffiti and the changed to the digital medium of art. Very successful as you can see.
