Andy J. Miller's work instantly caught my attention mostly because of its liveliness than anything else. His work is so cheery and colorful that it's hard not to miss. His use of lines is nice too. Miller's portfolio is also pretty impressive in terms of doing it all. He has magazine spreads, posters, t-shirts, laptop skins, and even car decals all under his belt.
Earlier this month I shared with you guys my love for triangles. Today I wanted to share my love for circles and show you some examples of circular elements in design.
I was introduced to Odosketch early this summer and whenever I had nothing to do, I'd go on it to draw and fool around. What's awesome about it is that when you're done sketching, you not only have the drawing but you also have a playback that recreates your drawing from a blank canvas using your exact strokes and techniques! For those of you unfamiliar...
I came across the awesome covers of Jauna Gaita magazine the other day. There was a post here on Abduzeedo about it a year ago to celebrate the Latvian magazine's 53 year anniversary. Today I wanted to show you a more extensive collection of the covers.
During my regular ventures through the thousands of good stuff on my Google Reader, one immediately caught my eye: Rubens LP. I instantly fell in love with Rubens' style. His use of lines, dots, and bright colors is different than anything I've ever seen. Rubens is a native from our home country of Brazil and the influence of the culture is pretty apparent in some of his pieces which makes me like him even more! ;)
My name is Rubens and I'm a brazilian guy passionate for lines, dots, colours, drawings, candies, friendship, sunny days…
Last week we received a suggestion from one of our readers about Leonard Gren's beautiful fashion photography. And beautiful it is! I was going through his site last night and found other great non-fashion related photos that definitely deserved a mention as well!
Last night I stumbled upon the work of Madison-based designer and illustrator, Julia Sonmi Heglund. I really dug her use of color and detail so today I wanted to share with you guys some of her really cool illustrations.
Ever since I was a kid I've had this fascination for space. I remember growing up watching Star Trek episodes with my dad on those lazy Sunday afternoons. And of course not to mention all those really old so-bad-that-they're-good space movies. Oh, and Star Wars but that's a given ;)
Today I will profess my love for triangles! Strange love to have, I know. But seriously, right after circles, triangles are the next best thing.
I've always loved triangular elements in design. For me it completes the piece. You can have a very simple composition but as soon as you add a triangle it becomes magical in my eyes :D Apparently triangles are the most unpleasing shape because it confuses the eye with its odd number of points. I heard that in some high school art class once but I don't believe it. Triangles are lovely.
It's been a week since we announced the James White Tron Legacy Poster Giveaway, and now we're back and proud to present the two lucky winners!
First off, we'd like to thank all of you guys for participating. This was by far the hugest giveaway on Abduzeedo to date and it would, of course, be nothing without you guys, so thank you! We were also really glad to see that we all share the same opinion about James's work, in other words… love it :)
So without further ado, the winners of this amazing poster are…
