I have to admit something, I never enjoyed the official sites from movies. They usually go with a simple (and boring) site with a trailer. Maybe too simple? That’s why we would like to share the interaction design for the official movie of the movie Sing. Loved the fact that the mighty folks from Watson DG decided to create an experience in reflection the movie instead of taking a simpler route. Let’s give it a look!
Watson DG is a digital creative boutique based in Los Angeles, USA. Founded in 2005, they specialize their work into creative and online development from web campaigns to digital marketing. From their portfolio, they have made official sites for movies like: Star Wars: Force Awakens, X-Men and more. .
With the SING official site, we aimed to create an experience that would echo this sentiment and foster emotional connections between audiences and the film’s distinctly different characters. An audition section allowed users a small taste into the musical style of each character and upon diving in further, users could explore the personality behind the performer. We integrated a variety of shareable content as well as character-specific Spotify playlists to make each character’s persona shine.
