Noelia Lozano is a Madrid-based graphic designer and art director that specializes her work into paper craft, CGI and 3D. Video Adobe at OFFF 2017 branding imagery, I was reach to design the visual Imagery campaign for Adobe at OFFF 2017 creative festival in Barcelona at Museo del Disseny. OFFF festival has become one of the most popular creative and design event across Europe, with more than 4000 assistants for all over the world. The main task was to develop a bold visual imagery to be used for the campaign on different applications as well as design the stands for Adobe at the festival, two main different areas where the participants to the event could explore new senses with Adobe, becoming their experience at the festival unique and memorable. The references that DR Digital Agency, the agency in charge of the art direction, used for the style and art direction was a colorful, tactile and bold graphic… kind of memphis style. An Interaction Design and Art Direction for Refugee Nation by Justin Au. I don't know if you guys remember at the last Olympics, we've witnessed a team of refugee athletes compete in the games. A first in the history and since they had no official "home" to call their own, no anthem and no flag. A flag of the "Refugee Nation," created by Syrian refugee was orange and black, to represent the life vests the athletes wore as they set off in boats for a better life. It's quite a beautiful story, I would definitely the full project via his Behance. Justin Au a designer and an art director working at Ogilvy & Mather New York. Currently based in Brooklyn, you should definitely follow his Behance where you'll find work for IBM, 36 days of type and more. Video Bringing the world together to support Refugees. The flag of the "Refugee Nation," created by Syrian refugee Yara Said, was orange and black, to represent the life vests the athletes wore as they set off in boats for a better life. Another Syrian refugee, composer Moutaz Arian, created a wordless anthem to convey a universal message of love and hope. The Refugee Flag has since become an international symbol of welcome and inclusion. It is hoisted all over the world by different people, organizations, and even countries as a sign of solidarity in support of refugees. I was tasked with designing a web experience that captured and explained the idea behind the flag and all that it stands, to visitors from all over the world who may have stumbled upon its colors. I have not seen Ghost in the Shell yet, but it's definitely on the list of movies I want to see despite the not so good reviews. One of the reasons is the look and feel of the movie. The post modern, futuristic look full of neons and crazy stuff. For this post we share a little bit of of the art direction behind it from a post shared by Ash Thorp and Christoffer Bjerre on their Behance pages. The sequences and images in the reel represent a compilation of work created for the Ghost in the Shell live action film, which includes everything from animation tests to final assets implemented in the film. SOLOGRAMS Early on in the film’s development, I met with Rupert to discuss some of the creative direction. He expressed his desire to paint the city with neon lights in a new form that he coined as “Solograms”, which are solid holograms. It is something in the realm of a particle system of light that can be moved and augmented in Z space. I loved the idea and instantly got to work building out concepts and ideas. Below you will see a mix of various style frames, concepts, and final production assets that made it into the film. These concepts then went into post production where Chris Bjerre and I animated and created an asset library for Rupert to paint his city with. - Ash Thorp Art Direction POSTERS Maciej and I pitched a few poster renditions for the marketing of the film. Although the posters were not eventually commissioned, we really enjoyed connecting and building them out regardless. The tagline of this campaign is: The more you connect, the less you connect. There’s a powerful message through the lines of this campaign tagline and you can easily relate with what it is all about. We’ve been through debates where technology grows at such a fast pace that the consumer grows to be even more demanding but at what point? I love the fact that the art direction gives you a clear understanding and a reflection to a sad reality of a present day. I love technology but I do agree that we have to keep a balance in our lives. A great thought from the work from Donghai Liu for Ogilvy Beijing. As a designer, I am a frequent user of Behance. It’s a beautiful platform that featured some of the best artists, designers and illustrators out there. One thing that annoys me though is the design hasn’t changed much in the last few years. For example, those gradient buttons are hitting me hard! Let’s take a look at the work of Nora Park who decided to take the platform for an overhaul concept. Overall, I really enjoyed her interaction design and direction for Behance, too not keen on the interactions but in the “ensemble”; it’s a lovely concept! This concept is the work of Nora Park who is a freelance art director based in Los Angeles, California. She has a background in UI/UX, graphic design, illustration, fine art and more. This is my attempt at translating the website into a desktop application, one that takes advantage of the platform by providing a richer, more seamless and customizeable experience.

We posted about them and featured their work so many times, actually every time they post something new because their work is quite inspiring. This time we are sharing the project they shared on their Behance profile for the Internet.org for Facebook. It's an advertising campaign, but we tend to focus on the technical aspects of the digital art and art direction for this post. To date, Internet.org has brought more than 19 million people in 38 countries online through a range of services — like installing wireless hotspots, beaming internet from the sky and creating platforms that enable data-free access. How could the internet be considered the World Wide Web if only half of the world’s population is connected? This year, once again, I will try to finally achieve my photography goal of posting one photo a day on Instagram. In the past the idea was to take a photo a day but I've learned that it gets pretty difficult to conciliate that with work, blog and some rest. Another important thing is having good references, for some reason I was quite passive in that area until Francois, the chief editor of ABDZ sent me some of the photographers he follows on Instagram. One of them was the Minh T aka, @thismintymoment. He became my favorite. I love the style of the photos, the art direction and the subjects. Mixing minimalism with urban style, a lot of concrete and architecture, he is really an inspiration for me to keep practicing. About Minh T. Femme is an art direction, web design and UI/UX project shared by Ruslan Siiz on his Behance profile. What can I say about this project besides it's awesome. I love the different variations of the layout with grid of images, sometimes in Pinterest style and others in a much more magazine/editorial look. As web design goes, I believe this project features all the major trends in web design. The detail pages are gorgeous, including some split screen designs, another very hot trend right now. Anyways, I am taking so much notes for some refinements I want to add to ABDZ this year. So check out the Femme project and let us know what you think. Squarespace Re-Design is a web design and art direction project shared by Peter Bagi on his Behance profile. I have been a fan of Squarespace pretty much since they started. I thought about moving ABDZ to their service, however it's not an easy task, even though it's still in my plans. Back to the project, the new design follows the simplicity and the black and white theme that have become almost their signature. There's much more to love and I feel that they achieves something extraordinary with less imagery and much more typography. The project was broken up into different phases. Concepting, wireframing/UX, design iterations, prototyping with Principle and finally full development. My role was to create sub features pages along with helping support the design leads on the main page design. The main page web design features some quite elegant solutions for footer and an interesting grid system with two columns but with different widths apparently. It's an smart solution to create a look that feels more editorial. Another signature component of their brand was preserved, the Gotham font for titles, headings and links. They use Gothan always in all caps. Another detail that I quite like the the letter-spacing or kerning. Much wider, which gives a even more modern look. Caramello - Gellato & Pastisserie is a branding and art direction project shared by the folks over at Collettivo Mare, including Leonardo Schiavina and Luca Cammarata. The design plays with modularity and patterns to create something unique and playful. I feel that modular patterns sometimes result in stark and, for lack of better word, boring visuals but this project proved me wrong. It feels classy, I believe the typography choice was responsible for that. The serif font balances the design with a bit more organic form. Caramello is a new concept cake and ice cream shop settled in Manchester. The idea behind the concept is create a fresh and modular pattern as a main related communication, mixing different shapes, pastel colors and copper color reminds the caramel one. Colour Game is a photography project shared by Jovana Rikalo on her Behance profile. As the name suggest the use of color and the contrast of the bright yellow and the cold cyan create a beautiful backdrop for the main subject, a redhead woman. With the craziness from today’s Black Friday (Happy Friday!) and the email spam! I haven’t personally tried the game but it looks like a greater version from the first one who was revolutionary for many of us.
