Inspiration: Ariel-G

September 15, 2008 from aloa's blog

When i started photoshop I got interested in a lot of abstract stuff. I downloaded every brush I think it was worth it (which was nearly every second) and painted black pictures with a blue fractal brush and thought I was a hero. I miss this feeling and I also miss good abstract pictures. Here is one artist I really like and follow his stuff for years now. And I have to say. He keeps getting better and better.

Lens Flare Revisited in Pixelmator
In this tutorial I will show you how to create a very neat lens flare effect in Pixelmator. It’s true: the terrifying lens flare is back, and it can be really cool to use as wallpaper, as I’ve been doing. This tutorial is part of series of tutorials I have been writing for the Pixelmator Learn site.

Wallpaper of the Week #31
For this wallpaper of the week we have the design from the Super Cool Abstract Vectors in Illustrator and Photoshop tutorial. We chose the dark version because, as you might have noticed, we sort of love dark wallpapers. However if you want the other version you can download the 1920x1200 pixels version at http://flickr.com/photos/azeected/3001691313/

Book Suggestion: Why We Buy - The Science of Shopping
The book of this week is not a design book per se but it's an incredible book. I have just finished it and I got so much valuable information that can be applied in my day to day job as designer. The book is called Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping--Updated and Revised for the Internet, the Global Consumer, and Beyond by Paco Underhill.
