Introducing João Unzer

March 23, 2011 from GisMullr's blog

From time to time we like to introduce artists to our readers. Today we are proud to introduce João Unzer, a brazilian artist that started his career working with art direction over Leo Burnett, dropped everything and started painting and selling artworks on the streets of London and after that, while in London, started to work as a photographer, using some techniques he learned over Youtube.

João moved from London to Lisbon and started working in an agency called Y&R (Young&Rubicam), where he showed all his talented and gained a scholarship to study in the Miami Ad School in Hamburg. He is currently doing some internships and plans to work in Germany, maybe get back to Brazil and after it try something in New York. Besides being really open to places, cultures and experiences João is very talented and has some really inspiring pieces to show, check it out.

Design Process: Starting a Design Project
Starting a Design Project
We have been posting tutorials pretty much every week for the past 6 years. We believe tutorials are an amazing way to learn how to use the software we need to do our design work. But as you can see, software is just a part of the design process, important but without a good foundation and design principles you won’t be able to translate a good idea into a cohesive design...even if you are a master of Illustrator, Photoshop or any other software.

Wallpaper of the Week #31
For this wallpaper of the week we have the design from the Super Cool Abstract Vectors in Illustrator and Photoshop tutorial. We chose the dark version because, as you might have noticed, we sort of love dark wallpapers. However if you want the other version you can download the 1920x1200 pixels version at http://flickr.com/photos/azeected/3001691313/
