Logo Design: Boats

September 02, 2010 from PauloGabriel's blog

The Logo Design series is up and running! We're thinking ahead and we want to find new ways to sort these listings. Last week we had a post on 3D logos... today it's all about logos with boats!

As usual, we'll search for logos in these galleries: Logopond, Logo Faves, Logo Moose, Logo from Dreams, Logo Gala, WS Logos, The Logo Mix and Wolda. We hope you all enjoy our selection! Cheers. ;)

PS.: Got cool ideas for sorting? Tell us! ;)

Lost in Space Typography in Pixelmator
At Abduzeedo, we have a posting place called “Typography Mania,” where we feature many amazing designs that were created by playing with Types. Inspired by that, I decided to use Pixelmator to create an abstract image made up of spheres and lights. I then used Blendings to mix this abstract effect within a text area to achieve the effect I wanted. In this tutorial, we will play with brushes, blendings, hues, and saturation, as well as a few basic filters.

The wallpaper of this week is an image I created a few weeks ago while playing in Photoshop trying to create some fluffy icon style clouds. The result was quite nice and I ended up writing a tutorial showing how to do the same. If you want to learn how to create this design check out the Fluffy Clouds in Photoshop tutorial. Book Suggestion: One Click: Jeff Bezos and the Rise of Amazon.com
The book suggestion of the week is about Jeff Bezos and the history of Amazon.com. One Click: Jeff Bezos and the Rise of Amazon.com is a really good book, very inspiring and motivating especially about believing on what you are doing and focus on the long term when doing things.
