Lost in America eating Wendy's
It’s going to be a week since I arrived in the US. I’m still getting used to my new routine and trying to keep up the with updates and new blog features. However I’ve been experiencing a new culture that is totally different from mine.
I’m now in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and probably on July 8th I will be arriving in NYC where I will spend a few days. After that I will head to California: San Diego and LA. Maybe I will visit San Francisco as well.
Smokestack, fatback, many miles of railroad track
All night radio, keep on runnin' through your rock 'n' roll soul
All night diners keep you awake, hey, on black coffee and a hard roll
You might have to walk the fine line, you might take the hard line
But everybody's working overtime - James Brown, Living in America
Meanwhile I have written some Photoshop Tutorials and I’ve been playing around with my G9 camera, learning how to use it. I will post photos from the places I visit here on the blog, and if there is anyone from these cities that want to meet up for a coffee or something, let me know. Tips are welcome as well.

Aww I'll just be leaving NYC as you arrive. Hope you have an awesome stay :)
Heh, have fun in North Carolina, chances are you'll be stuck in a 2hour traffic jam when you get to NYC.
Also, I LOVE that last picture, it looks almost as if it were taken underwater, and the cloud formations just give off that water-y effect.
Try to eat at either Bullock's in Durham or Mamma Dips in Chapel Hill while you're there--awesome southern cooking.
Hope you have a great time in the States! I just got back from a two week trip to NYC. Wish we could have been there at the same time. We could have grabbed a pizza or something. I love that G9! I came close to buying one a while back but I already had a mid-sized camera and I really needed one that would fit in my pocket. The G9 just isn't there yet. I got back yesterday. Hopefully I will be able to post some pics from my trip on my website tomorrow some time.
Hehe, Nice gear you got there :)

wow!
You HAVE to go to San Francisco!
In my opinion San Francisco is so much more worth a visit than LA for example, but if you have time to visit both, then do it.
It's not like I'm a professional photographer or anything but I've got a few tips to share.
You should never center the object you're photographing (as in the picture of the sign), it makes for a boring, bland and non dynamic photo. Instead try to have the object a little to one of the sides (http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/rule-of-thirds/).
Also when taking portraits try to have as little space as possible between the top of the persons head and the edge of the photo. You could even clip a bit of the forehead.

@Tebeez thanks a lot for the tips, I will do that for the next photos.
And thank you all for the comments ;)
If you stop in Dallas let me know and my wife and I could put you up for the night.
Take care!
Have fun my friend! If you come up here in Ottawa sometime, I'll hook you with the best things to do =)

Wanted to say that I am in NYC, so if you want some company I am very much open. I love your blog, come here almost every day. And welcome to America. If my comments already posted and I just missed them then I am sorry, I've been trying to comment a few times already and it just didn't seem to work. Great work though, great inspiration.

For all of those in NYC. Sorry this is short notice but we're meeting up at Barcade today around 6:30pm. Figure it was a fitting place to meet. Hope you can make it!
Here's how to get there.
Barcade
388 Union Ave.
You take the L train to Brooklyn and get out at the Lorimer Stop.
Exit the train station at the Union & Metropolitan exit. (when you step off the train go to your right)
Go to the street and walk south on Union Ave and look for the address 388 Union Ave. You can't miss, it's on your left.
Here's a Google Maps link:

Thank You very nice topic
