Tente imaginar varias casas contruídas empilhadas, 12 casas, uma por cima da outra. Pois é, este foi o projeto da Vitrahaus, desenvolvido por Herzog e De Meuron para o showroom da Vitra, um belo exemplo deconstrução e modernidade.

Localizado em Weil Am Rhein, entre a Suiça e a Alemanha, será a última obra de arquitetura no complexo do Vitra Campus, que já tem a honra de possuir entre tantos outros obras de Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid e Tadao Ando. A casa é uma obra de arte, consutrúída com paredes de concreto e grandes janelas de vidro que permitem durante o dia a visão de todo o campuns e durante a noite se tornam grandes vitrines para os maravilhosos móveis expostos la dentro.

Dentro da Vitrahaus os arquitetos conseguiram tratar o minimalismo e a simplicidade de forma a valorizar ainda mais as cores e formas de cada cadeira, cada sofá, cada móvel da Vitra. Na verdade as obras se complementam, e os olhos do visitante ficam maravilhados tanto pela arquitetura como pelos móveis do showroom.

The “VitraHaus“ is a direct, architectural rendition of the ur-type of house, as found in the immediate vicinity of Vitra and, indeed, all over the world.

The products that will be on display are designed primarily for the private home and, as such, should not be presented in the neutral atmosphere of the conventional hall or museum but rather in an environment suited to their character and use.
