The wallpaper of this week is an image I created last week just for fun in Photoshop and Illustrator. My goal is to try to create one image per week for one year. Let's see how that goes. Meanwhile you can check out the first one and use it as wallpaper for your desktop or mobile devices. Desktop Version
Wallpaper of the Week #3
I'm a Brazilian product designer based in Oakland, California currently working for Google as a Staff Designer. I am also the founder of Abduzeedo, an award-winning digital publication about design and a personal project that has become the source of inspiration for millions of designers and enthusiasts.
The wallpaper of this week is an amazing image created by our friend Rik Oostenbroek. Rik is a 22 year old self-taught Dutch freelance artist, designer and art director based in Hilversum, The Netherlands. For four years, Rik has worked as a freelancer on some of the biggest brands in the world including Nike, Mazda, ESPN and Viacom and his work has been used in advertising the world over: from Hong-Kong to New York, London to Paris, Amsterdam to Milan.
I've been posting lots of landscapes recently and one thing I've missed was good quality images available in huge dimensions to be used as wallpaper. So I thought it was time to make a nice compilation of some fantastic HD wallpapers. So I've selected superb wallpapers featuring some of the beauties from California. From natural landscapes to city scenes, California has got it all, and I really wish to visit it some day soon. If you got your own HD photographs of California and wish people would use it as wallpapers, share it here!
The wallpaper of this week is an amazing image created by our friends from Lightfarm Studios. This still is from the video Harmful Nature, the new promo video from Lightfarm Studios. Conceptually the image brings a dark and tragic metaphor about the impossible love with the classic tale of the Diver and the Mermaid. For more information visit http://www.lightfarmbrasil.com/
