November 02, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

We've seen some great gadgets and equipment for designers. So many cool stuff, that we could actually assemble infinite perfect office spaces! Every week we'll assemble a perfect office, and we'd like you to help us. What equipment would the perfect office have?

Not only gadgets and equipment, but also furniture, sound system, gaming stuff (for lunch time!). A designer is totally allowed to dream with the perfect office, and that's what we're gonna do here! Comment telling us your suggestions, or even better, you may tell us via twitter (mine and fabio's), using #abdz_ofc so we can check it. Alright? I hope you guys enjoy this brief selection. Cheers! ;)

CHAIR by Benjamin Claessen

The Perfect Office Gadgets

Inspired by car design and with a love for furniture Claessen decided to research the car design development process. This whole process was then used to design a series of chairs. The approach from another angle resulted in a series of chairs that have a very expressive form language. (via Design Spotter)

Mini Coca Cola Freege

The Perfect Office Gadgets

These little freeges are fantastic, and got this vintage look, which will just increase the joy at work! (via Eu quero)

Switchital Clock

The Perfect Office Gadgets

The Switchital Clock uses a series of magnets that are hidden behind the watch face, the magnets moves the bars on the watch face to display the time in a digital format. (via Geeky Gadgets)

Ariston Built-in Coffee Center

The Perfect Office Gadgets

Whether you're upgrading the office or doing a dream kitchen makeover, the Ariston Built-in Coffee Center ($2,150-$2,260) will make a fine addition. This in-wall brewing system can dispense cups of coffee, espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, teas, or just plain ol' hot waters two at a time thanks to dual heating elements. Each drink can be customized with a turn of a dial, and the built-in LED display lets you keep an eye on the action, all for the price of 600 or so White Chocolate Mochas. (via Uncrate)

Elecom Magnetic Card Reader

The Perfect Office Gadgets

Rather than placing it on your desk, it comes with a magnetic backing which lets you attach it to the side of your PC or any metal surface. It looks like it will support the majority of memory cards including, SD, microSD and Memory Stick Duo, and it will come in a range of funky colors. (via Geeky Gadgets)

JVC XS-SR3 iPod Dock

The Perfect Office Gadgets

The JVC XS-SR3, a new docking station from JVC can take either mini, nano, photo, video, classic and touch and has 2 2.5w cradle speakers with analog and digital external input. Its also claims that its the first iTheatre speaker system with built in Dolby decoder. With its neat holding cradle you can swivel your iTouch to view movies or vertical for app use. Unfortunately and a big mistake in my opinion its not iPhone friendly for some reason. With the external input socket you can also use it for portable TVs, DVD players or gaming system. Logitech Notebook Kit

The Perfect Office Gadgets

Laptops are quickly becoming the de facto computing tool, but due to their portable designs, they're not always the best when it comes to ergonomics. That's where the Logitech Notebook Kit ($100) steps in. Including a compact wireless keyboard with number pad, a pivoting stand to help raise the screen to eye-level, and a comfortable wireless laser mouse, the Kit is an all-in-one solution for laptop users. Nokia Booklet 3G with Windows 7

The Perfect Office Gadgets

The Booklet 3G sent to Engadget Spanish is configured with Windows 7 Home Premium -- a more suitable companion for this premium netbook... an oxymoron, we know. See the full unboxing video after the break and a picture paella just beyond the read link. And hey, feel free to dance along if so moved -- nobody's watching 'cept the robots. (via Engadget)

Last week we've linked the Tinysong site in our Sites of the Week. Beyond being a great app, it has an really well executed design, and I thought it would be a good idea to reproduce the same design and make a fireworks tutorial out of it. For this tutorial we're not gonna apply any great effect or use a unknown tool, but only show you a simple way of making neat effects that will make the difference in a layout.

The wallpaper of this week is an image I created for the Abduzeedo Icon Contest. It was my first experiment using Poser 7, a really nice software to design human forms in 3D. I highly recommend a visit to their site and download the demo, I'm sure it will be very useful for you.
