Photography Bug

June 10, 2008

It has become apparent that Fabio and I have caught the photography bug. So much so that we both bought brand new cameras. Fabio ordered the Canon Powershot G9 while I ordered the Nikon D300.

Both of our cameras arrived last Friday, giving us the weekend to get our first impressions and grab a couple shots. WARNING: we suck

So without further ado:

Fabio's pic

and here is mine

You can find more of my pics here:

And Fabio's

Edit: Thank you Marcello for pointing out my grammatical error. :)

I surely suck more than you Cameron, besides my camera is like a kid's toy compared with yours... I'm looking forward to seeing your hdr pics ;)

I just noticed a little blooper in my image. You can see a reflection of my tripod leg down the middle. Darn it! That's what i get for shooting behind a window.

Hi there,

Any suggestions what can I buy because I want to buy a professional camera son and I am not yes decided.

I was thinking to a Canon 450D or 400D. What do you guys think?

Nice photos.
Just because this is what excites me, I looked up adieu and ado, and it looks like ado would be the winner here although I did find an example of adieu being used here: http://www.yourdictionary.com/adieu

Damn english!

Nice pictures for a first try... The best will come with time and practice, so i'm hoping the best !!

HDR enhances the photo quality and detail . . . How about showing us the picture before the HDR editing . . .

Cameron06/10/2008

I've lived in the U.S. my whole life and thought adieu was the right way. Thanks for letting me in on the right way. :)

O and a couple days ago you probably saw the post on how to make fake HDR pictures of graffiti. I have been doing that effect to normal pics for a while, but this was my first "True HDR" Picture. I will write a tutorial on the 3 ways i know how to do HDR. Fake HDR using Photoshop's Exposure Settings, Fake HDR using RAW Settings, and True HDR using at least 3 exposures. And then you can compare the results yourself

Constantin check out www.dpreview.com . They have some really in-depth camera reviews and you compare the cameras side by side. This is what made me choose the D300 over the 40D.

It is good for a designer to get better with a camera. I myself recently got the Photography Bug :).

Not only do you have your own images to use for design you also improve how you compose things, you can take a picture that doesn't look right and know you can fix it later with a few simple tweaks.

Best of luck to you both with your new camera's.

Where did you buy your D300 from? There's too many stores to choose from!

Interesting...
