The idea in this series is to show beautiful and inspiring houses. Houses that are remarkable for its design, elegance, elements, concept or simply because they are beautiful. So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more... This week we present you the beautiful Glenbrook. Glenbrook is a project by David Jameson Architect. Two stone structures surround a glass pavilion within a wooded landscape in Bethesda, Maryland. The concept for the Glenbrook residence was to create three distinct structures: one for the most public programs, one for the most private living programs and one where “public” and private can co-exist. Each space has an outdoor terrace or some special connection to the site while the roof of the glass pavilion folds beyond one’s cone of vision to create the feeling of being outside. Wow, this house is super elegant and beautiful. The wide spaces, stone walls, floor, materials and lots os glass are incredible and create a really nice environment. Definitely a nice place to live ;) Check out David Jameson Architect website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time. We found this house at Contemporist.

So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more... This week we present you the beautiful La Concha. La Concha is a project by MOOARC, an architectural studio based in UK. La Concha is the result of a renovation of a 15th century barn. The old barn was transformed in a beautiful and elegant residence, where the former barn takes part as the heart of the home. On the lower level, kitchen and dining is position below a more formal living space up on a mezzanine level. A more relaxed living/play space is set at the front of the house, opening out to a terrace. At the rear, the sleeping block is linked to the living space via the entrance and vertical circulation. The house was conceived as a separate sleeping block linked to the barn via a glazed entrance piece allowing the mass of the original barn to breathe. The retained structure of the barn has been revealed, with the internal space for living expressed as a single volume. The house is super beautiful. Huge spaces, lots of glass and nicely picked materials form a modern and elegant house. Definitely a nice place to live ;) Check out MOOARC website for further details about this and other projects. Beautiful Houses: Rechter House in Tel Aviv

This week we present you the beautiful Rechter House. The Rechter House is a project by Pitsou Kedem Architects. The main idea behind the project was to conserve the spirit of the original design - open planning - and with this in mind, they redesigned the house’s external features and internal spaces. They preserved the horizontal grid and gave it extra intensity dividing it into two halves through the use of a spacious double space running its entire length. The choice of materials was done with great thought and included materials that are not considered “fashionable” so that they will not overpower the architecture and will help form a bridge between the two era’s; the first, the original one story design and the other the new, present day design. This house is simply wow. I loved the open plan, materials, floor and huge book shelve. I would definitely love to live in a place like this ;) Check out Pitsou Kedem Architects website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time. So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more... This week we present you the beautiful Washington Park. The Washington Park Residence is a project by Sullivan Conard Architects. The house is located in Seattle, Washington and sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Washington and the Cascades. The design takes advantage of the site by capturing unobstructed views while preserving privacy. The design explores the contrast between mass and transparency with thick, thermally insulated concrete walls forming the major portions of the street facade. The walls are layered and modulated to provide carefully framed views from west facing rooms, add depth and shadow to the facade, and orchestrate the entry sequence through the courtyard to the front door. The house is really beautiful and elegant. The concrete walls, wide windows and materials create a really nice environment. I'm not that in love with interiors, but I still would like to give the house a try ;) Check out Sullivan Conard Architects website for further details about this and other projects. The Kirribilli house is located in Sydney, Australia and is a response to a clients demand of having a comfortable house. So what makes a house comfortable? A climatically comfortable environment, a place where you seek refuge from the heat of the day or in the cold nights, without having to barricade yourself behind hermetically shut windows. The rammed earth walls and well located operable skylights, the sun drenched courtyard and the breezy verandah, the green roof and external shutters have all contributed to a most livable waterfront residence and to win the AIA sustainable design award for 2011. Beautiful Houses: Flowing Lake Residence in Washington

This week we present you the beautiful Flowing Lake Residence. The Flowing Lake Residence is a project by David Vandervort Architects, a middle sized firm located in Seattle. Their challenge was to create a home for an active, young couple which preserved the trees and the remaining native landscape while extending toward and maximizing views of the lake in the Snohomish County. The solution was to create a path to the water alongside which a house was then placed. The path begins at the auto court with its detached garage/office. It then descends past the bedroom wing alongside the giant firs to mid-slope where a glass corridor/entry blurs the line between interior and exterior. From here the living areas open and cantilever toward the view, its glass façade maximizing both openness to the lake and the limited quantity of light. This house is really elegant and the lake view is pretty inspiring. The layout, the big windows and materials are beautiful and create a nice and cozy environment. Definitely a nice place to live ;) Check out David Vandervort Architects website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time. We found this house at ArchDaily. The project is a 2,000 sf home on the Columbia river in Vancouver Washington. The home, built for a retired couple, was placed on the site to maximize the southern view to the river. A large overhang creates a dynamic outdoor living room and creates enough overhang to shield the harsh rays of the sun from penetrating the interior of the home. Radiant floor heating, exposed wood structure and walnut cabinetry create a contemporary, yet warm home. The house is super elegant and beautiful. All the windows, the floor, the materials and color combinations resulted in a modern and cozy house. The wood also gave the place a beautiful and unique look, definitely a place I would love to live in ;) Check out Scott | Edwards Architecture website for further details about this and other projects. Beautiful Houses: Kona Residence in Hawaii

This week we present you the breathtaking Kona Residence. The Kona Residence is a project by Belzberg Architects, a firm that is all about architectural innovation. Nestled between cooled lava flows, the Kona residence situates its axis not with the linearity of the property, but rather with the axiality of predominant views available to the site. The program is arranged as a series of pods distributed throughout the property, each having its own unique features and view opportunities. The pods are programmatically assigned as two sleeping pods with common areas, media room, master suite and main living space. An exterior gallery corridor becomes the organizational and focal feature for the entire house, connecting the two pods along a central axis.  This house is astonishing. The place itself, Hawaii, is already a paradise, and the house is simply breathtaking. The volumes are beautiful and inspiring. The interiors, materials, spaces... everything makes me want live here ;) Check out Belzberg Architects website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time.
