Beautiful Houses: FYF Residence in Argentina

The idea in this series is to show beautiful and inspiring houses. Houses that are remarkable for its design, elegance, elements, concept or simply because they are beautiful. So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more... This week we present you the modern FYF residence. The FYF residence is a project by PATTERNS, a firm with a very particular style that describe its work as an attempt to deal with architectural organizations capable of acquiring a rather unseen degree of material performance. The FYF Residence is located in Rosario, Argentina. FYF Residence can be described as an attempt to deal with the generic and undifferentiated flatness of the landscape. The project was conceived as a monolithic solid, a monochrome form only punctuated by subtle inflections that establish a complex physical relationship among the different spaces while maintaining a sense of identity and privacy between them. Specifically, a supple concrete shell constitutes the body of the house. Problematic transitions are registered into the shell through folds and bends. The modern look of this house really got my attention. I loved the geometrical shapes and the mix of materials. The white walls contrasting with dark wood, concrete and glass gave the house an unique style. Really interesting... got me wondering about the decoration. ;) Check out PATTERNS website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time. :) We found this house at ArchDaily.

Beautiful Houses: Bergman – Werntoft House in Sweden

The idea in this series is to show beautiful and inspiring houses. Houses that are remarkable for its design, elegance, elements, concept or simply because they are beautiful. So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more... This week we present you the beautiful Bergman – Werntoft House. The Bergman – Werntoft House is a project by Johan Sundberg, a person who believes that each project has its own structural strength and refined style. Johan believes that the architect's profession is an artistic endeavor with elements of technology, economics and many other things. One of his projects, the Bergman – Werntoft House, is a house situated in the heart of the Ljungskogen forest, in Vellinge, south of Malmö - Sweden. The design is based on the Danish atrium house typology from the 60s and 70s and has an outer brick wall and an inner façade which is mostly glazed. The inner and outer walls of the building are folded and doors and windows move in and out of alignment along the outer walls. This helps define spaces and views, frames the nature outside and creates an inner life. This is certainly another beautiful house. I really like this combination of shades and types of wood with glass and some white interior elements, I think that the outcome here is great. An elegant and cozy house that allow you to have nice views without loosing privacy. Check out Johan Sundberg website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time. :) We found this house at ArchDaily. Photos by Henrik Magnusson.

Beautiful Houses: KvD in Netherlands

The idea in this series is to show beautiful and inspiring houses. Houses that are remarkable for its design, elegance, elements, concept or simply because they are beautiful. So if you like architecture, interior design and beautifully designed houses, you are at the right spot. Check out this week beautiful house and stay tuned for more... This week we present you the super elegant House KvD. The House KvD is a project by Grosfeld Van der Velde Architects, a firm that believes that each projects has its own essence and personality and that this is something really important to follow on the creative process. They believe that as an architect they have a huge responsibility towards the space they are building, the space where people will live and/or work. The house KvD is located in the woods of Teteringen, close to Breda, southern Netherlands. In the residents point of view an important thing was to experience the green environment around them in a really intense way and this ambition formed the main concept of the building: a house that feeds in between the trees, giving every arbitrary movement a surprising perspective on the forest. The square-shaped volume keeps you in constant contact with the environment. They also intensify the sculptural characteristic of the volume, the facade is made of vertically placed black stained wooden parts. The subtle details in combination with shape and material make the house modern, but also reserved in it’s afforested environment. I think this is a really elegant house. The wide clean spaces, the minimal interiors, the views... everything is stylish and elegant. It's certainly a modern house, another great architecture accomplishment. Check out Grosfeld Van der Velde Architects website for further details about this and other projects. See you next time. :) We found this house at freshome.
