Wallpaper of the Week #30 - James White O series

This week we have a great wallpaper from James White, one of my favorites digital artists out there. James sent us wallpapers from the incredible O Series. The coolest thing is that he shows us how he created those images on his website in a really good tutorial, definitely worth checking it out. Last week I posted a few images entitled The O Series. The process behind the images is fairly simple and I thought it would make for a good first tutorial post. There is nothing advanced here, and all you will need is a basic knowledge of the layers palette, blending modes and masks. For more information visit James White website at http://signalnoise.com and the tutorial at http://blog.signalnoise.com/?p=484 Desktop Version iPhone Version Resolutions: 1920x1200px 1680x1050px 1440x900px 1280x1024px 1280x800px 1024x768px iPhone Version

Wallpaper of the Week #24

Yesterday we posted about the new depthCORE exhibition, called NOIR, so today we have one of those outstanding images for our Wallpaper of the Week. Justin Maller sent us the super cool Ombres et Diamants. Again we highly recommend that you visit the depthCORE.com website and check all the artworks out. Consisting of over one hundred songs, photographs, illustrations and animations, 'NOIR' is a deep and immersive experience that is the result of an enthusiastic and considered response to an evocative theme from new and old artists alike. The months behind the scene spent creating the work that comprises this Chapter were some of the most artistically charged in our six year history; it is no stretch to say that this was an immensely enjoyable release to create. T-Mobile debuts the G1. Competition for the iPhone? Not really....

The T-Mobile G1 debuted today and the blogosphere is buzzing with reviews. The biggest reason is that it's the first phone to use the Google Android software. Could this phone really be competition for the iPhone? From what I've read so far, I don't think so. I myself don't have an iPhone (yet), I do however use T-Mobile and I'd rather get a hacked iPhone before getting the G1. But that's just me. UPDATE 9/24/08: I wanted to add a video I just saw from Google's official YouTube channel. Scroll all the way to the bottom to see the video. And I wanted to give you a link to the official Adroid site. Check out the official G1 site for an overview and details on the features. Here are some reviews: Gizmodo review 1 Gizmodo review 2 (the chart below is from this link) Engadget review Dvice review (I really liked this review) This is a nice chart from Gizmodo comparing some of the more important features: And here are some videos of the G1: from Coolhunting from Engadget From Google:
