José Parlá's - who now works in New York - created his own unique style which reminds of great calligraphic letters. His life, like his work, is at once extremely particular and generally reflective of the wanderings of today's urban populations. Each painting bears the name of the location or experience from which it draws its source.

Johannes Aagaard is a graphic designer from Denmark with a nice set of works mixing typography illustration with some photo manipulations. I specially like some of his new designs: the Culture, Underwater Project, Half Awake and How Things Turn. Some are very geometric while others more organic, but all very well done.
Web design has its own limitation, and us, web designers, have been working and learning how to overcome these constraints to create better solutions. Typography is our most important asset and we're seeing that designers are applying old concepts that they've learned from print design and applying to web design, in the right way. That's why we've been seeing more and more big contrasts in font sizes.

When we talk about Erik Spiekermann and Neville Brody we must be talking about a really cool thing right? Yes we are probably talking about FontFont, the type foundry they founded in 1990, and the huge amount of innovative and influential fonts that we seel all over.
