We have been posting tutorials pretty much every week for the past 6 years. We believe tutorials are an amazing way to learn how to use the software we need to do our design work. But as you can see, software is just a part of the design process, important but without a good foundation and design principles you won’t be able to translate a good idea into a cohesive design...even if you are a master of Illustrator, Photoshop or any other software.
The wallpaper of this week is an amazing design created by Rik Oostenbroek specially for the Abduzeedo 4th Anniversary. If you don't know Rik, he is a 20 year old self taught Dutch digital artist with more than 5 years of experience. Rik has done work for clients such as Mazda, Panasonic, Volkswagen, Palm and others, and we are super happy that he presented us with this beautiful wallpaper, and also a poster, but that is a little secret for another post.

The book suggestion of this week is very inspiring, especially for those out there fans of LPs. The book is called The Art of the LP: Classic Album Covers 1955-1995 and it has a great variety of cover design styles from punk rock to pop all divided by thematic chapters.
