Genius Ikea Hacks For An Instant Interior Upgrade

I'm a bit shy to admit I love a good Martha Stewart tip from time to time so when we stumbled upon the July/August issue's story on genius Ikea hacks we had to share here. The amount of Ikea furniture that has been begrudgingly put together in this home, one screw shy always and definitely involving a couples spat, is far too many to mention. At this point we've thankfully started to invest in more quality furniture but we still have a couple pieces lingering about the house. In fact, I created my own Ikea hack last summer that I must say I'm still quite pleased with the result. Cruising through these creative hacks for turning a bland Ikea piece into something that could pass for a true designer piece of furniture has us itching to make our next trip to the beloved Swedish retailer.  We're particularly partial to the genius hack leveraging Ikea's cabinet systems customized by this amazing company called Semihandmade. Semihandmade has been around since 2011 offering handmade craftsmanship at a reasonable price by making doors that fit Ikea cabinets. So brilliant!  "Life is like IKEA furniture. Sometimes you have to take it apart so you can put it back together the right way." – Chris Blake Hemnes Wardrobe transformed with Raffia Door Paneling Mid-century-style dresser gets an upgrade with beautiful natural leather straps Fintorp Magnetic Knife Rack turned most-clever-toy-storage-ever piece Tarva 3-drawer chest turned chic office desk Minna raw cotton turned textile pots Ottava pendant light upgrade with copper spray paint Sektion base cabinet with Semihandmade doors to create a beautiful custom look Besta shelf unit turned minimal floating credenza
