Everything here may not be brand new, but we felt it worth sharing with the community. It seems like lately the vidoes that I've been drawn to the most are the ones that take me behind the scenes in an artist's life. I enjoy getting to know the people behind the work and observe them going through their own process - or in the case of Chris Rubino in Love Kills Demons - discovering their process for themselves. I found this series to be immensely inspirational and I highly recommend carving out enough time to watch all the videos. You can also head on over to their main website and view the film in it's entirety as one video.

Love Kills Demons is 12 short films by Jim Helton. Much like Bertrand Russell's definition of electricity these films are "not so much a thing as a way things happen." They are a window into the spirit of an artist looking for change. Over the span of one year filmmaker Jim Helton documented New York-based artist Chris Rubino while he searched for a new direction in his work. In the process we see screenprinting, drawing, painting, wandering as well as a peak inside the workings of a studio and an artist's process. The final 12 part film that is Love Kills Demons takes a look behind the proverbial curtain exposing some of the mystery of creation supported by the otherworldly sounds of Big Blood.

"God Went Surfing With The Devil" is a documentary about surfing and life in Israel and gaza. It documentates 50 days of a area filled with hate and war, where in middle people are surfing.

According to Juxtapoz.com the film will be ready in almost a year. GodWentSurfing.com is a blog where Alex Klein daily blogged about interesting experiences. And with awesome pictures from Bryan Derballa the blog is more than worth taking a look.

Mysterious occurrences in the apartment…

“Would you like to shoot something?” our gracious host asked.
“Like what?” we replied.
“This teacup!” came his retort. A wife frowned.
“Perhaps not,” we countered.
Our host became distracted, then excited.
“There! A bird!”
He took aim.
[sound of rifle discharging]
“Missed!” he shouted, rueful.
Relief wafted over us. We like birds just as much as we like cats.
