Photorealistic paintings on canvas are definitely in a whole other level of awesomeness. Seeing a painting for the first time and thinking it's actually a photograph is definitely a compliment for an artist like Pedro Campos.

Pedro is a Spanish artist that makes these astonishing pieces of oil on canvas. He's definitely a very talented person... I can't even imagine me making something look good on Photoshop, left alone on canvas. Inspiring Paintings by Nigel Cox

I really love when I'm browsing my feed and I bump into something that take my breath away. And this happened Yesterday when I saw Nigel Cox's work on Minimalissimo. Nigel Cox was born in Ireland and used to draw cartoons and superheroes from comics as a child. Nigel calls his style "photorealistic minimalism" and as you will be able to see here, his paintings are superb.

Nigel delivers an universe that suck us into a different reality and makes us live the reality we are seeing. It's almost magic. There is no way you can not get interested about his characters. Besides being super realistic the delicate lines and colors are amazing. Definitely worth checking out.

If you are a fan of pop art and bright colors, this post will blow your mind. Lobo is an artist from Sao Paulo Brazil and he is passionate about painting pop art. His style is pretty solid, very bright mix of colors and stencils of illustrations lead the eyes on his amazing pieces. Enjoy!

About Lobo

Even though he is in love with Sao Paulo, Lobo lived many years out of his home town. “The experience of knowing different places and, integrating yourself to them expands your mind to new perspectives.” The diversity of situations the artist was exposed to, helped to develop one of his main characteristics: versatility. Lobo experimented with many painting techniques and different materials, as well as sculpting and interior design.

He is a great admirer of the art of Burton Morris, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Peter Max, Roy Lichtenstein and Jackson Pollock. In the past few years, Lobao’s style naturally evolved into Pop Art. “I believe that even being a part of a well defined classification of style, an artist can transmit much of his personality and state of being to his art, making it unique.”

Even though Lobo has been a publicist since the 90’s and worked in marketing agencies, he never thought about exploring his art commercially. But, after painting for a few friends, the demand for his art grew. Today, Lobo has sold over 1000 paintings in Brazil and in other countries such as Argentina, United States, Canada, Mexico, Italy and Uruguay. “Art is universal. It crosses borders, doesn’t matter its origin. It is like music and cinema, where I get my inspiration from, it has power to transmit messages to other places.”

Goldfish Salvation Project by Riusuke Fukahori

These blew my mind. Riusuke Fukahori, a japanese artist has developed a painting technique that makes you think you're seeing actual fishes inside water. When I say this I was really amazed, but when I watched the video, my head went through the roof.

Check these out with attention... try to imagine how he does it, and then, watch the video. When the pours the acrylic paint inside the recipients the magic happens and it's truly amazing. For more information on Riusuke's art you may check his personal website, which it's in japanese, but you could browser-translate it. I hope you these blow you mind. Cheers! ;)

Sole Junkie assumes to be a fan of the Avengers and who isn't? The idea was to keep the base colors of the shoe intact and work over the original orange area, actually making it green to create more of a green monochromatic tone that worked well with red and black. He wanted to make the details very sharp for a close look and it turned out great.

I didn’t want them too flashy from a distance. I wanted to really break necks once you got up close and seen the details. I used a pair of Nike Dunk Highs and I was inspired by the Avengers: Thor, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America and a hint of a Villain…See if you can find him.

I had did some crazy research...hours and hours on some of the talented comic book artists out there. Once that was done, I sketched out each character as I went along. Then I painted and did subtle wash like shading just to hint at tones. I do not take credit for the original comic book artwork. These are guys whose artwork I like. I placed them in areas of the shoe I think would work or fit.

Wayne White is an American artist, art director, illustrator, puppeteer, and much, much more. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Wayne has used his memories of the South to create inspired works for film, television, and the fine art world. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, Wayne traveled to New York City where he worked as an illustrator for the East Village Eye, New York Times, Raw Magazine, and the Village Voice. In 1986, Wayne became a designer for the hit television show Pee-wee’s Playhouse, and his work was awarded with three Emmys. After traveling to Los Angeles with his wife, Mimi Pond, Wayne continued to work in television and designed sets and characters for shows such as Shining Time Station, Beakman’s World, Riders In The Sky, and Bill & Willis. He also worked in the music video industry, winning Billboard and MTV Music Video Awards as an art director for seminal music videos including The Smashing Pumpkins' 'Tonight, Tonight' and Peter Gabriel's 'Big Time.'

More recently, Wayne has had great success as a fine artist and has created paintings and public works that have been shown all over the world. His most successful works have been the world paintings featuring oversized, three-dimensional text painstakingly integrated into vintage landscape reproductions. The message of the paintings is often thought-provoking and almost always humorous, with Wayne pointing a finger at vanity, ego, and his memories of the South. Wayne has also received great praise for several public works he has created recently, including a successful show at Rice University where he built the world’s largest George Jones puppet head for a piece called 'Big Lectric Fan To Keep Me Cool While I Sleep.'

In 2009, Wayne's life and career were chronicled in an incredible 382-page monograph, edited by Todd Oldham. The book features hundreds of images from Wayne's earliest work as an illustrator all the way to his most recent fine art sculptures. Since the book’s release, Wayne has been traveling the country delivering an incredibly entertaining hour long talk where he discusses his life and work, while making time for a little banjo and harmonica playing.

Seriously, I believe El Mac and Retna are probably the best partnership since Batman and Robin. These two guys can make some really outstanding mural paintings, it's like one completes the work of the other and the result is a powerful combination of colors and striking lines.

Josh Keyes had a feature on Abduzeedo in 2008, but he really improved his skills and released some interesting artworks, so we had to show you some of his new work. All of those paintings were done on 30"x40" panel with acrylic in his studio in Portland, Oregon.
