We all know DepthCore and friends but we are always happy to find other groups that design nonprofit. Its a perfect way to express yourself without pressure from a client. The Luminarium is a modern international art group with talented artists in both the digital and traditional realm from all over the world. Pursuing originality and creativity, our group focuses on creating online art exhibits for anyone to enjoy and experience. The group releases a new exhibit every 2 to 4 months, providing fresh and inspiring content on a regular basis. Every release carries a different theme for the artists to interpret, pushing them to illustrate and visualize their unique views on the subject creating organic and exciting exhibits.

“The Luminarium is proud to give you our 9th exhibit We are Dust and Shadow. We decided to take ourselves outside of our comfort zone and use a theme that was a little different to what most of us are used to working with. While this has led to a smaller exhibit it, as always, packs a punch.

With some fantastic artwork from the likes of Chris Cold and Pheonix-06 to some artwork by our newer artists that you might not have been expecting, both visual and audio, We are Dust and Shadow doesn't hold back in any respects.

Epoch, the new art group?

As the saying goes, two heads are better than one. But with 50+ heads, you can only imagine what can be achieved, especially in the creative realms of design. Websites like DepthCore and Evoke produce some of the greatest works of digital art out there, and it's a credit to the designers' hard work and determination.

With this in mind, I decided myself to apply for one, but subsequently was rejected. After deep thought, I figured, "Why not just create your own art group?", and so this idea has lead me here, to ask you, readers and designers of Abduzeedo, to help out, if you wish, with my new project, which is currently name Epoch.

At the moment, I'm creating a forum for people to apply, chat and contribute to the upcoming site at http://cmwiki.co.nr/forums (the name will be changed very soon). I hope to see you there.

About the author

My name is Starchild, aka Luke Davis, and I'm a student from England. I passed A-Levels in Graphic Design, Mathematics and Further Mathematics and will be studying Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University in October.

I was never an artistic prodigy at an early age, but I still doodled and drew things like any normal child. As I got into high school, however, I began to enjoy art more and more, and managed to get an A at GCSE, probably my greatest achievement to date. It was very hard work, but it was worth it. Initially, I wanted to do Graphic Design at university, but I didn't want to leave my other talent behind, maths, so I decided to make a compromise: do computer science at uni and still continue my graphic design work, but on a casual, freelance basis. With any luck, I'll get spotted.
