On last January, Montreal Meets had their first edition with two truly amazing speakers including our beloved founder Fabio Sasso here at Abduzeedo and James White from Signalnoise. For April 2012, Montreal Meets will be back with MMTWO and we are doing a ticket giveaway for you guys.

We have 3 tickets to giveaway. To participate is very simple, just leave a comment in the comment box below with a valid email so we can contact you.

Abduzeedo + Greyscalegorilla Meet-up in San Francisco

It has been more than six months since I moved to San Francisco to work for Google full time. I love this city and have learned so much living in a different country and culture. One of the things I love the most is the chance to meet new people especially some that I really admire like Nick Campbell aka Greyscalegorilla.

I met Nick a few days ago and he is awesome! Nick also had the idea of organizing a meetup here in San Francisco so we could get the chance to talk with more local designers.

So if you are in the bay area come join us for nerd talk, design talk, pinball, 3D, and, of course, beer at Zeitgeist Beer Garden from 7:30pm-11pm Wednesday August 24th. Hope to see you there.

Montreal Meets Live Tonight

In a few hours I will be taking the stage at Concordia University with James White and Francois Hoang for the MontrealMeets. For those that won't be able to attend the event will be broadcasted live.

In case you need the last minute information, here is a list of all the important stuff for this evening’s festivities as posted on the Montreal Meets website.

The Schedule

Attendance information

1515 Ste-Catherine West in the EV Building, in the room EV 1-605 at 18h00. For those coming to the event, please arrive about 15 minutes in advance to take your place. Please note that the reserved seats will be seated first and the rest will have to stand.

For the e-ticket, just give your email to the people at the front and this will be your confirmation for your entry to the event. If your email is not confirmed, that means you will to wait for the reserved seats to be seated first and then you’ll be able to come in. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Live broadcast

If you are unable to attend the event in person, you can tune in live via a Ustream broadcast. Things were made really easy, you can click over to the Signalnoise Broadcast page and tune in to watch the presentations. The chat may be deactivated during the broadcast to allow better bandwidth, we’ll see how it goes.

Abduzeedo Photoshop Battle Highlights

This past July Abduzeedo put on our first offline event. Despite the fact that I was pretty nervous about how it would turn out, it actually went really well. A lot of people showed up and now we're planning to organize another battle in another city, or maybe even another country.

The Photoshop Battle consisted of eight designers battling it out to take home the title of Abduzeedo Photoshop Battle World Champion. We'd draw a subject in which the contestants would have to design a wallpaper in 30 minutes. Even though that's a pretty short time to create something cool, the final results were stunning. After almost seven hours of dispute, we had our first Abduzeedo Photoshop Battle World Champion: Cássio Braga.
