This one is amazing. Chan Hwee Chong, an illustrator located at Germany, has done some mind-blowing freehand illustrations for Faber Castell. Talk about control... this dude gotta be a robot from the future or something.

I don't have much to say about it. All I can tell you is that you really should visit his portfolio at Behance to check out the making of video of these. It's impressive... and I'm pretty sure you'll like it. Besides, Chan will definitely enjoy your visit. Enjoy. Cheers. ;)

Old illustration with Australian feeling

It’s always good when we find some things we thought we had lost. Last week I was checking some backup CDS and I found some old illustrations, which were from 2002-2003.

The illustrations were for some work i did for a friend of mine who was living in Perth, Australia. I don’t know what he did with the, but it was a good money. One is the skyline in Perth, the WA Maritime Museum Victoria Quay I don’t even know what this is and the last one is the Sydney Opera House.

In those days I was using Freehand for almost all of my works, but the Sydney one I did on Illustrator and that one, I think, the AI file has been lost for the eternity.

Anyway, I’d really appreciate it if anyone who still uses Freehand could convert those files to "AI" for me.

Last week I was checking some old backups, like from 3 years ago and it was really cool because I found some crazy things that I had done in the past. Some I had even forgotten I had them, while others I was really willing to get them back and maybe use them again.

One of these files is a Mini that I had created on Freehand, I think in 2004. I don’t know precisely when I did that.

Anyway, as I don’t have Freehand anymore, I managed to open it in Fireworks importing the .FH11 and the illustration looks ok. However I’d really like to have it in Illustrator format (AI). I tried exporting it from Fireworks but it lost some gradients and masks from the original file.

So, I would really appreciate if anyone could export it to AI from Freehand and send it back to me.
