Born in the beginning of the past century, Henri Cartier-Bresson was definitely one of the most important photographers of the XX Century, and it's considered to be the father of photojournalism.

His work has all the ingredients of good photography: emotion, sensibility and an eye for the perfect moment. Besides that, for being the first of a kind, there's this pioneer feel to his work.

For me the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity, the master of the instant which, in visual terms, questions and decides simultaneously. In order to “give a meaning” to the world, one has to feel involved in what one frames through the viewfinder. This attitude requires concentration, discipline of mind, sensitivity, and a sense of geometry. It is by economy of means that one arrives at simplicity of expression.

To take a photograph is to hold one’s breath when all faculties converge in a face of fleeing reality. It is at that moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.

To take a photograph means to recognize – simultaneously and within a fraction of a second– both the fact itself and the rigorous organisation of visually perceived forms that give it meaning.

Kickass Illustrations by Mr. Dave Johnson

Oh my God. I actually thought I had already posted about this guy. Ok, not just some guy, but Dave Johnson. Dave who? Dave Johnson! If you don't know him, you should really google him just to know how great this artist is. He's one of the greatest illustrators out there.

When I was younger, one of my all time favorite Superman comics mini-series was the Red Son. I loved those books... and later I found out that Dave Johnson had done the covers for them. I instantly faved that guy forever. He's done some great works for both Marvel and DC, and many great indie works... anyways, you should REALLY check out his portfolio to see ALL his kickass work. I hope you like it! Cheers. ;)

The Greatest Illustrations in History by Master Drew Struzan

If you are 20 years old or older, you've probably watched movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones - 1981), Back to the Future (1985), Batteries Not Included (1987), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Coming to America (1988) and Angels in the Outfield (1994), among many, many others, you got to know the work of the man who did the posters for these films.

With an unmistakable style, Drew Struzan was born in 1947, and is world famous for not only his work for these 80's films, but also with much recent ones, like the Harry Potter series, Star Wars (both original and new ones), Hellboy and more. I've always loved his work, but never knew that all those posters were done by the same person, until I found his portfolio some time ago. I was stunned, and just had to share this illustration master's work with you.

I deeply recommend you guys, younger than 20, to get these films if you haven't watched, and just have a little time of true amusement. Also, you should really visit Mr. Drew Struzan's portfolio for a great quantity of marvelous works, with the possibility to buy his original pieces. And I won't say that I hope you enjoy these, because there's no way you don't love it. Cheers! ;)

Breathtaking Art by Illustration Master Adam Hughes

We don't call people masters very often. This is a title obviously reserved for those who are capable of take our breath away with their art. Whether it's illustration, photography, sculpting, architecture, or whatever fields of creativity, some guys, like Adam Hughes just got the talent to make astonishing art.

In 1987, Hughes penciled two short stories and the first issue of the character Death Hawk, created by Mark Ellis. In 1988 Hughes' work appeared in Comico's Maze Agency with co-creator/writer Mike W. Barr, and stayed on the book for one year. When Maze Agency was canceled by Comico, DC Comics offered him a job on Justice League America. He did both covers and internal renditions on that series for two years, before switching to providing covers only.

There are 2 places where you'll find more of his work: at his DeviantART profile and at his personal website. I totally, 100% recommend you to go visit these, because there's no way a person can get enough of these illustrations. And that's it. Enjoy guys... enjoy. ;)
