Family Tree, a project by Bobby Adams

Regardless all advances on technology, some photographers still have the guts to remain old school. So I must ask, how many photographers do you know that still using film or don't use photoshop at all? I would say almost none. That's not the case of Bobby Neel Adams, this impressive photographer made some outstanding photography projects, all old-school, like the one bellow.

You should definetely see more of Bobby's work, there other awesome projects at his Personal Website.

Family Tree is a series of portraits of immediate family members i.e. Father/Son, Mother/Daughter and even Father/Daughter, Mother/Son. Families are photographed individually and then sized and printed at the same proportions. The two photographs are manually torn and glued together to make one portrait investigating the visual DNA passed form generation to generation. No photoshop (Bobby's Website).

ESPN Athlete Portraits by Bram Vanhaeren

Bram Vanhaeren is a 20 year old freelancer graphic designer out of Anwerpen, Belgium. He studies cross media design, and after 2 years freelancing together with his brother. He's been developing his style since his first pen tool experiments in Illustrator about 5 years ago.

The designed these awesome portraits of famous athletes for ESPN magazine. The postraits were very well vectorizes in black and white with a layer of light effects to top it off, and the result is great.

Shalee Lehning (born October 27, 1986) is an American basketball player who was selected by the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA in the 2009 WNBA Draft.

Tamika Devonne Catchings (born July 21, 1979 in Stratford, New Jersey) is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and Turkish team Galatasaray. She is a prolific scorer close to and far from the basket, as well as a capable rebounder, ball handler, and defender. After playing at Adlai E. Stevenson High School and graduating from Duncanville High School, Tamika Catchings became one of the stars of the University of Tennessee women's basketball team. In 2001, she was drafted by the Indiana Fever. After sitting out her rookie year due to injury, she had an all-star rookie season in 2002.

Dustin Luis Pedroia (born August 17, 1983, in Woodland, California) is an American professional baseball second baseman with the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball. Pedroia has won several awards in Major League Baseball, including the 2007 American League Rookie of the Year and the 2008 AL MVP award. He also won a Silver Slugger as a second baseman, and a Gold Glove in 2008. He finished second overall in the AL in batting average in 2008.

Bryant McKinnie (born September 23, 1979) is an American football offensive tackle currently playing for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He played college football at the University of Miami.

Martin Pierre Brodeur ; born May 6, 1972) is a Canadian-American ice hockey goaltender who has played his entire National Hockey League (NHL) career with the New Jersey Devils. In his 19-year tenure with the Devils, he has won three Stanley Cup championships and has been in the playoffs every year but two. Brodeur has won two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada in the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympic Games, as well as several other medals with Team Canada in other international competitions.

Josh D. Koscheck (born November 30, 1977) is an American mixed martial artist from Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, a former collegiate wrestling champion and is currently fighting at welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He made his debut with the organization on the first season of the reality television show, The Ultimate Fighter. Koscheck has fought for the company a record 17 times since 2005. Koscheck is often ranked among the top ten welterweights in the world by leading mixed martial arts publications. MMA Weekly currently ranks Koscheck at No. 4 while Sherdog currently ranks Koscheck at No. 5.

Paul Williams (born July 27, 1981) is an American boxer and is the former two-time WBO welterweight champion. With a height of six-feet-two inches tall, Paul is considered extremely tall for the three divisions he campaigns in: Welterweight, Jr. Middleweight and Middleweight; he has defeated world champions such as Winky Wright, Sergio Martínez, Kermit Cintron, Carlos Quintana and Antonio Margarito.

Brenden Morrow (born January 16, 1979) is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and captain of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Morrow played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Portland Winter Hawks. During his junior career, he helped Portland win the Memorial Cup during the 1997–98 season. He was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the first round (25th overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

We've already seen some crazy collages here at Abduzeedo, but I don't remember seeing such delicate portraits like these, done by artist Ann Marshall, which are simply amazing. At first I thought they were paintings, but then I realized they were collage. Awesome!

The images shown were all created "in camera".

The change in tones, removal of odd blemishes and the addition of some vector was all minimal post production work, created using PS & AI.

Awesome Rainy Portraits

Nicolas Dumont is a professional photographer based in Dubai and he had a great idea of shooting some rainy portraits under the shower of his apartment. These portraits came out great, the water going down their faces and the expressions are priceless. Check them out!

I invited some friends into my kitchen to have their picture taken under a cold shower. I asked them to stare right into the camera and control their...nerves. Each session latest between 10 and 20 minutes. I guess the water temperature felt better after a while as some of the best images were captured at the beginning.

Sara Blake, also known as ZSO is an interactive art director, designer and illustrator living in New York City. She graduated from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study with concentration in Graphic Art and Postmodern Studies-I.

These days you can find her at Euro RSCG where she focuses on digital design. But by night she also doubles as an illustrator for clients such as Yen Magazine, The KDU, Hurley, SGCNY, and Koko & Me. She'll also be having her very first solo gallery show at Friends of Leon Gallery in Sydney, Australia, September 2010.

Hello, I'm ZSO. (On paper you may also know me as Sara Blake.) I'm an Interactive Art Director, Designer, and Illustrator living and loving in New York City.

ZSO (pronounced |z?|) is a collection of letters that I find aesthetically and phonetically beautiful. Together they make sound much like “so,” the adverb which means "to such a great extent.” I am a person of extremes, for better or worse (most often the latter), so the ring of it was fitting, and the moniker has since stuck for good.
