In this tutorial I will show you how to create a really nice light effect using basic filters and tools in Pixelmator. The idea is to create an image with that 80s feeling in it but modern as well.
Step 1
Open Pixelmator and create a new document. The size I am using is 1440×2000 pixels. After that, import a photo of a girl; the one I’m using is courtesy of Shutterstock and you can find it here.
The wallpaper of this week is an image created by Christopher Raymond, a 24 year old Boise based artist about to graduate in the fields of Design and illustration. Christopher is currently working in a studio called Yellow Box Studio as designer, illustrator and creative juicer during the day and diving into the deep end at night experimenting with different hand drawn and digital mediums.

The book suggestion of this week is a very inspiring one for those in love with vintage typography, it's called Scripts: Elegant Lettering from Design's Golden Age. It's definitely a book for when you need some extra motivation and inspiration.
About the book
Elegant, quirky, fluid, brutish, ostentatious— a visual resource of cursives and other typefaces that resemble handwriting.
