I've been writing tutorials inspired by skateboard deck designs for a few weeks and today it's not going to be different. I'm very addicted to that, I love the ideas some of the designers have and for this tutorial I will recreate a really nice effect with lines forming a star. However I will go a little bit further and I will transform it in a light effect and add a nice pattern overlay. Everything using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
The wallpaper of this week is from Max Spencer, a UK based freelance illustrator and graphic designer currently living in Falmouth. He sent us this very cool design her did for Requiem, one of the depthCORE chapters.

The book suggestion of the week is a must have for those willing to design nice web sites and pretty much anything. It is called Ordering Disorder: Grid Principles for Web Design (Voices That Matter) and as the name says it is all about grid systems or the principles behind it.
