In this tutorial I will show you how to create a beautiful golden text in Pixelmator. It might be useful for your next Christmas design. We will use basic tools and gradients to mimic gold with this super easy technique. I also have writen a tutorial showing how to create the same effect but for Photoshop, you can find it at PSDTUTS.
The wallpaper of this week is a beautiful design created by Tim & Bram Vanhaeren. They are both graphic designers based in Kapellen, Belgium and they run a design studio called Into 1.
They also run Wallpaperart.org, a blog constantly in search for the most incredible wallpaper art for your desktop. Wallpaperart aims to bring the art closer to the user by involving the artists through interviews, tutorials, contests and a lot more.
The book suggestion of this week is very inspiring, especially for those out there fans of LPs. The book is called The Art of the LP: Classic Album Covers 1955-1995 and it has a great variety of cover design styles from punk rock to pop all divided by thematic chapters.
