Video Inspiration #36

September 22, 2011 from nathanbweller's blog

Video Inspiration is a weekly(ish) post where we either feature a specific artist or show a sort of "best of" list of videos we've discovered during the week. Everything here may not be brand new, but we felt it worth sharing with the community. If you have good finds that you'd like to share, please feel free to send your links to nathan@abduzeedo.com with "video inspiration" in the subject line.

This week I'm featuring some cool videos I've found since last week. Enjoy!

Youth Lagoon - Montana from Tyler T Williams on Vimeo.

FOTB2011 MAIN TITLES from GMUNK on Vimeo.

Kaleidoscope by MANIAMANIA from V Magazine on Vimeo.

Hi, my name is Nathan Weller. I'm a Columbus Ohio based artist, blogger and freelance consultant. I manage business development here at Abduzeedo. If you'd like to partner or advertise with us, email me at nathan[@]abduzeedo.com. I also write for some other cool blogs and post everything I write on twitter. If I'm not working then I'm either tinkering around with personal projects or posting cool stuff as I find it on my Tumblr. If you're passionate about art or even an artist yourself, I'd love to connect and learn about what you do :)

Incredibly Realistic Water Text in Cinema 4D and Photoshop
Yesterday it was raining and I decided to create a water effect. I didn't know what to do then I saw the desktop wallpaper I'm using, a image from the depthCORE Heist chapter created by Sumeco that we used of the Wallpaper of the Week 43. To create the effect, I had to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Maxon Cinema 4D.

The wallpaper of this week is an image created by Vlad Axinte, a self-taught designer from Romania. The image is called "Coordinates of Chaos" and it was inspired by street art and grafitti. I tried to take the street art into a digital environment using my Wacom Bamboo Pen and Adobe Photoshop CS5 For more information visit Vlad Axinte's Web site at http://www.behance.net/lexington

The book of this week is not a design book per se but it's an incredible book. I have just finished it and I got so much valuable information that can be applied in my day to day job as designer. The book is called Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping--Updated and Revised for the Internet, the Global Consumer, and Beyond by Paco Underhill.
