Video Inspiration #43

November 10, 2011 from nathanbweller's blog

Video Inspiration is a weekly(ish) post where we either feature a specific artist or show a sort of "best of" list of videos we've discovered during the week. Everything here may not be brand new, but we felt it worth sharing with the community. If you have good finds that you'd like to share, please feel free to send your links to nathan@abduzeedo.com with "video inspiration" in the subject line.

This week I'm featuring some fun finds from around the web. Enjoy!

My Favourite Animal (5 min. version) from Lara Lee on Vimeo.

Socalled || Work With What You Got [Vidéoclip officiel] from Dare To Care Records on Vimeo.

Seventeen Evergreen - Polarity Song from Lucky Number Music on Vimeo.

Mint Julep - Why Don't We from Village Green on Vimeo.

Bedtime Stories from cldfx.com on Vimeo.

Tips on taking your project from the paper to the wall
Sometime ago, before I got interested in street art and other tradicional medias, I was walking thru a street and stumbled with a graffiti artist painting a huge mural. I asked him how he could scale from such small drawing to a big wall like that, he said that this was due his experience and nothing more. Not satisfied with this simple answer, I found that after doing a few works on bigger scales I should share with you some tips on how transfer your artworks on bigger scales.

Book Suggestion: Typology - Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age
The book suggestion of the week is one of my favorites, it's called Typology: Type Design From Victorian Era to the Digital Age and it covers a lot of art history always linking with types and typography. It's a must read for those starting out their careers or even willing to dust off their typology and typography skills. About the book
