Video of the Week #33

January 30, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

During this past year, we've seen plenty of watercolor inspirations, which were pretty awesome! Sometimes we get to see trends repeat from time to time. The video of this week is an awesome Donald Duck cartoon, the one where he visits Brazil for the first time.

Once you start watching it you'll realize why I say that trends repeat from time to time. This cartoon first aired in 1942 within Disney's project called "Saludos Amigos". Take a good look at this cool cartoon, and we'll get much more than just watercolor inspiration. Enjoy, and Cheers! ;)

Illustrator Quick Tips #1 - Complex Symbols with Pathfinder
Last week I posted an article showing some great logos using 3D effects and colorful gradients. There are quite a few ways to do create those effects in Illustrator, however for most of them you will have to use the Pathfinder tools. Because of that I will show you an example based on a few logos from that list. References When I was looking for references for a logo design project that I'm still working on, I selected some awesome logos. Below you can see some of them. The wallpaper of this week is an image I created last weekend when I was playing around with Pixelmator, it's inspired by those bokeh effects in photos. I will write a tutorial showing how I did that soon. Also, if you want to have your wallpaper featured in our WPW series, just send us an email with the link or the image attached. Desktop Version
