Video of the Week - Olivia & Josh

October 31, 2009

It's been quite a long time since our last Video of the Week post, mostly because we've been featuring amazing videos in our Daily Inspirations, and this video is not different. We have already posted it in one DI, but a lot of people have asked about it and as the author is a friend of ours, John Arlington. We contacted him and asked him to tell us a little bit more about how he made the video.

Info about the video by the author

I am really happy that all of you liked the video posted yesterday by my pal Zee.

He asked me to write a few lines on how I did the vid and what equipment I used. Well, it took me a couple of hours to shoot those images. I used a Canon EOS 5 Mark 2 with a 16-35 mm lens and a steadycam for the running scenes. I used this lens throughout the whole process.

For the remaining images I hand held the camera on manual focus to give it that POV feel not worrying too much about camera shake and focus. My friend Alex did the editing and applied that film-like effect with a tutorial he found on Videocopilot. All of u video makers out there know this site.

Well, I hope this has helped you all some way or the other. I shall have another little vid soon showing some more camera tricks.

"It´s What It Feels Like For A Girl" By Madonna in Her Album Music (2000) or "Lo Que Siente La Mujer"

I had always dreamed to be in the motion graphics industry until recently. Instead I do webdesign. But the part of me that loves a good short film will never go away.

This was a great find. Thanks!
