I really enjoy reimagined characters from our childhood. Whether it's from comics or video games, it's just great to see someone like Mario sporting some big guns! Who wouldn't love to see an awesome animation with these below? These come from the mind of the America artist Coran "Kizer" Stone. Pretty awesome imagination, dude! These are only a few of his pieces... at his DeviantART portfolio you'll get to see a ton more of his work. I bet you'll love it, just like I did. Cheers! ;)
Awesome Alphabet Illustrations
I haven't posted a case study in quite a while but it's always awesome to discover beautiful work and the behind the scenes of them. For this post I feature the work of Katlego Phatlane a designer and illustrator from Johannesburg, South Africa. The projects are Adobe Illustrator Neo-Cube and Adobe Photoshop Neo-Cube. The cool thing behind them is the level of details and of course the style. For more information check out https://www.behance.net/kattphatt
Some artists really have a an awesome talent for creating characters. How many of you have seen a World War Centaur? Or maybe a Cheetah in a Velociraptor body (or would it be a Velociraptor with a Cheetah head?) Anyways, here is the fantastic work of Jake Parker. Here you can see some pretty awesome character designs by him, but also, his take on famous pieces are also really nice! Although this is only a handful of his pieces, you may see more of it by visiting his portfolio at DeviantART.
It's not been a long time since I became an appreciator of Studio Ghibli's animations. I've recently watched Princess Mononoke and it's pretty impressive how great the visuals look like. Great landscapes, great heart-warming stories. Richard J. Evans, an English artist, has done some super amazing 8-bit fan art pieces paying homage to Mr. Miyazaki's works. These are super great and you can even see some making of pieces at Richard's portfolio.
