Helios – The World’s 1st Wireless Solar Powered Headphones
Using Bluetooth 4.0, Helios will allow you to listen to music and phone calls wirelessly without ever worrying about recharging again. Helios, a wireless headset (bluetooth connected) is conceived with a solar panel mounted on the top face. Power is drawn from natural light through the solar panel in order to recharge its internal battery. It is not possible to extract the collected energy to recharge an external device. There is also a possibility to recharge through an AC outlet. HELIOS uses a non-polluting process to recharge its internal battery through a photovoltaic film located on top of the headset. It provides the necessary energy for the Bluetooth 4.0 technology to operate while always having the possibility to recharge the device using a cable through a Micro-USB port. (at The Gadget Flow)
iRobot Create 2
For many of us, the Roomba was the first robot we had in the house. Unfortunately, there was no real way to have it do anything but clean. With the iRobot Create 2, you have a chance to change that. Built using remanufactured Roombas, the Create 2 offers all the sensors, LEDs, and built-in behaviors — like self-charging — of its cleaning cousins as a starting point for your tinkering. It comes with a USB-based communications cable to start programming your own behaviors, and even includes a drilling template in case you decide to start adding hardware, like a camera, gripper arm, or zombie-shredding machete. Basically, it's everything you need to build a real robot — like Anakin building C-3PO, but without all that Midichlorian nonsense. (at Uncrate)
