I remember when I started my design career in Brazil in the 90s and one of the biggest challenges, if not the biggest was to find good resources. There were imported magazines like HOW and catalogs we would request from Emigre, T-26 and FontFont. But for web design things were even more scarce. The internet changed everything and with that we now have access to a plethora of resources.

It all started with a Portuguese soap packaging from the first half of the 20th Century. The 5 uppercase letters that spell NAZARÉ were sufficient to drive the creation of this typeface design. Created by Natanael Gama, Nazaré fits in a semi-serif category and has a large contrast.

As they describe, it's a no logo logo and the awesomeness lives in the simplicity as you can see on the comps below. It reminds me a bit of the rebranding of MySpace, that used similar concept.

The brand offers bold and out-of-the box products crafted with the most precise and rigorous attention to detail. The design has a modern take on a classic form and I love it!

We all love to feature great work, especially when that comes from our hometown. That's the case of the project that I'd like to share today, it's from Marco Almeida and it's a web design project for Coza, the leader brand in domestic plastic products in Brazil.
