In this tutorial I will show you how to create a very nice image inspired by the amazing work of Andy Gilmore. If you don't know who he is, I highly recommend you to check his work out. He creates images combining vectors and blend modes to create astonishing designs, and that is what we are going to do.
One of the greatest things about design is how some people get to use classic references in their work. This week's video has that classic touch, and uses the theme song from 1952 film, Singing in the Rain. But not only uses the song, they also manage to turn the song into something new, yet, really enjoyable. Now add a dude breakdancing. Cool, huh?

Beck's new album Modern Guilt is out now and I'm digging its groovy 60's vibe. It's a little bit more psychedelic and moodier than his previous more upbeat and funky albums like Odelay and Midnight Vultures, but is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan.
When designing we have to think about the goals of our project, the audience and what we want them to feel when seeing our design. Among all areas of a design project, color selection is one of the most important. They can make our design look cold, warm, retro, futuristc, vintage, etc.
Today is the grand opening of The Dark Knight, and we are all really excited! How much butt will this movie kick? A LOT. And to celebrate its opening, we're making a collection of all Batman Movies Posters (or just the best ones, as you wish). We had several Batman movies already, in which Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney played the Dark Knight.
We all love icons, every kind of them, and we are always looking for nice iconsets to download. This week, besides showing you guys the best visited sites during the last week, we're also gonna give you guys a free iconset from Iconshock! That's right! Free!

Abduzeedo has became a reference in the Internet when the subject is HDR posts. It's a huge pleasure for us to find those cool pictures and post it here for you. But now, George Wilson, a student from the UK, has written us an email, telling his experiences with HDR. Really cool! Here it is:
Hi everyone, I'm a new writer here at Adbuzeedo. I love all things design (like most of you reading this) and this is my first posting and I hope you enjoy it. I've seen many concept cars in my lifetime, whether on the web or at a car show, but I've never seen anything like these before. These concepts come from the Royal College of Art (I'm guessing that's in the UK somewhere).
Today we've got great videos for you guys. The First one is something I've never seen before. A "code video" for Radiohead's song House of Cards, really impressive and beautiful. We also got an awesome extra video, a video clip featuring Santogold, Julian Casablancas, and N.E.R.D. (I've never heard about them before, actually), where they are paper cut-outs. Really great!

One of the greatest things about video games and movies CG is that it's getting totally realistic these days. Sometimes tou can't even tell that something you see isn't real, but CG. Here are some great examples of this awesome art, computer graphics! I wonder if any of our readers has any CG works to show us!
It's been some time since I got this hyped in a morning. During my regular visits to First Showing (a must visit for all movie freaks), I ran into something I wasn't expecting: the 1st friggin' international trailer for the Max Payne movie. And I know the preview picture isn't from the movie, but from the game, but it's totally cool.
After 2 excellent weeks in North Carolina, I’ve arrived in New York. It's the 4th time I've been here and it’s still awesome. Lots of people, I’m always walking around, most of the time lost, but it’s really cool. This time I’m staying with my aunt Terry in her super cool apartment.

It's been some time now that I'm developing a big crush on Toy Art. Another day I caught myself stealing some. No, just kidding... I caught myself in a store taking a look at many toy art books... drooling all lover the place. And now I was checking some Munnies at Flickr, and man, these are really great!
What's up, guys? This weekend we had an awesome article brought by Fabiano, with lots of great links, inspiration and all that. And to start the week very well, what about some Photoshop articles and videos to get you all set up? ;) 101 Photoshop Tips in 5 Minutes This got to be a World Record.
I'm a huge fan of Photoshop, it's a fantastic tool for pretty mucha anything, however when it comes to web design my favorite tool has to be Fireworks. I've been using Fireworks since I don't know when but I can say that its vector capabilities combined with pixel precision positioning make very easy to design websites.
We've already featured Gustav Balderdash's work in Wallpaper of the Week #8, and he's such a nice talented artist that we've asked him to write a little bit about his latest work, the Natural Selection mixtape. The author says:
It's always great to find some "unknown" artist who makes good art. Tom Krieger is one of those... he makes really beautiful illustration, airbrush and all that. Thank God I found his deviantART account... we had only his Flickr account, with only a few works. And man, he's even better than I thought.
I knew that this day would come, this week in our list of the best sites we have two sites we haven't been able to neither translate nor understand a word on them. So we would like to know if anybody would be interested in sending us a little about text of this 2 sites.
This week we have another great design from Guilherme Marconi. He allowed us to create wallpapers from some works of his fantastic portfolio. So good for us. Also we recommend you to visit Marconi's website at http://brain.marconi.nu/.
For the last few weeks came to my knowlegde an artist that gotta be the Jedi of Illustrators. His name is Robert McGinnis, and you might know him by his 007 vintage posters. Today, I'm gonna pay a little tribute to this man, who made superb illustrations to book covers, paperbacks, posters and etc.
