In the first logo, the S along with the E looks like a test tube or flask.

The second logo clearly expresses the idea. The moment I saw it, I knew what it was for...

by far the 1st idea is much better , the 2nd one it's really normal and doesn't have any symbolism , just plain and simple

I like the 1st but i'm not completely sold on the execution. In the 2nd, the coathanger is definitely not as visible.

All in all, I'm not terribly impressed with either, but I'd personally go with the 2nd.

i like the 2nd one bc the first ones' "s" is sticking out like a sore thumb. it doesnt seem seamless. i believe a great design needs to be seamless and not distracted by other parts of the design.

I like the hanger 'S' on the 1st, but i also like the simplicity of the 2nd. Overall I think I like the 1st better. Its fun and the hanger adds some visual interest to break up the straight line of type that the 2nd has. The 'abducteez' title is very clever. Good choice with the bright energetic colors as well and paired with that font, it reflects the Abduzeedo theme well. Very nice:)

Number 2 is my choice. It looks more polished and subtle. I think those that are "in the know" will figure out the hanger reference.

I think that the idea of the coathanger is good.
To my mind a logo which makes the difference is the one that suggest the concept instead of showing it clearly. For me, the idea of the coathanger is more symbolized and suggested on the #2 so I vote for this one.
But we see that both required hours of work !

oh Fabio it just came to me... you know those metal hangers... the cheaper ones, how bout making your logo's font made of metal hanger bending with some twirls here and there and some hooks here and there... same colouring....

I mean, logo 2 works because it's clean, feels together, and people can read it if they want to know what it says :)

The second one is clearer to read, and whilst the first is more unique, I vote for number 2.
It is easier to read, and although the coat hanger look is lost, it ends up looking more modern and, in my opinion classier.
The final letter of the first design does not fit in with the rest of it, and therefore makes the eye jump to the wrong part of the logo, whereas with #2 the design flows much more clearly.

Honestly if I saw the 1st one, I wouldn't know what it said. It would be hard to tell the coat hanger is an "S". But it is my favorite Design of the two.

On the first I can see that you tried to place the Coat Hanger but I doesn't really gives a nice result. First, the head face left on every pictures on the reference and you place it as a "S". The idea was pretty great and I saw it imediatly. There is my point, this is not facing the good side. So that's why I prefer the second one! I think my viewpoint is the same as everyones!

You're already changing the ending of the 'logo' for Abduzeedo; Adding the coat hanger element ensures people recognize it's an icon, not sub-brand of Abduzzedo.

The second one is more appropriate. Even though the coat hanger is a clever idea, you can't sacrifice clarity for clever's sake. Perhaps if you added a centered hook to the second logo, that might work.

Personally, I'd go with #2. I didn't read the article, and just looked at the logos first. I didn't catch that it was a hanger until I went back and read the article. But that's just my opinion. maybe I just can't recognize shapes...

while the idea of the 1st logo was extremely clever I personally hate it. I think it detracts from the overall look of the logo. now if this was a company that produced clothing as for it's main income like jcpenny or something I could understand that but since that's not really what this website is about I think it just detracts from the over all and representation of your site as a whole. that being said I know we are supposed to be design forward so I guess thats ok.

personally since a lot of people like both I say make both available options that why everyone stays happy.

just please change the colors to that of the original logo, those colors are kinda ugly :o

As designers we all know that it's not what we like better, but rather what works better.

The first one does not work, It is too obvious, and if I saw somebody wearing it, I would not think that it had anything to do with a design website at all. I would think it was a clothing company... a cheesy one.

The second one works. It's simple and clean.

If you just put Abductees on its own, people will eventually figure it out, and it would be way cooler.

I think you have sufficient references for a coat hanger in the type-style itself. You dont need that "S" in the #1.

I prefer the first design because its easyer to see it from the start. I understand that the second looks better ( the letter "S" is clear) but its hard to see the concept as there are two other letters before joined up and it make be mistaken for a type style.

I prefer the Abductees version 2, with the coat hangar S. I think that it would be better to differentiate the store logo from the core site logo through colour a bit more, maybe edging towards the cooler spectrum. Makes it more of a logo family.

Also, I think it's the box font and the fact that it still has three ascenders that makes it hard to differentiate from Abduzeedo. The human eye doesn't recognize the letters as much as rounded characters and assumes it's the same word it has seen before - the original logo.

My 2 cents.

The idea of using the coat hanger works, but I believe the "s'' in the 2nd logo needs to be that way to be read. I suggest trying to put the hanger coming as an ascender out of the "u". It will still look like a hanger, just not the bottom half of it, and the message will get across. Can't wait to buy one! :)

The first logo is in my opinion, i like the coat hanguer idea...

I love the #1, but people might understand it as "Abductee" and a coat hanger (which would be quite annoying), that's why i vote for #2 with less punch, but it's a better match. And getting to know the deeper meaning of the logo (percieving the hanger) can give the customer the feeling: he's more acquainted with the site / business than lots of the other people.

And that's a niiiiiice effect. For both.

NUMERO DOS!!! Stick with the saying "less is more". When you realize the connection on your own, just like a escher poster, it moves you.

I loved Yoshikun's approach, maybe you should think about improving it. the problem with the first one is definetely about some people confusing it with abductee+hanger, and the second is too simple, at least for me. I think that by improving Yoshikun's idea you could even leave that "abduzeedo t-shirts" behind since it won't be needed.

It still has the coat hanger shape in the logo, but its not as obvious. Look at some of the best and most respected logos in history. They all have impact yet they aren't obvious. They're clever but not in your face.

2nd one. Far more subtle. You have to work harder with the image to notice it. Think the arrow in FedEx logo. The hook on the first version emphasises the weakness in the e of the typeface.

The 1st logo looks like a lab logo, like Nikh LaVida said, it looks like a flask. If it weren't for the obvious "tees" part, and the fact that you let us know what you used as referrence, a lab would probably be my guess. Maybe it has to do with the "s" lookng so different, it does start to look like "abductee".

Maybe I am wrong about the flask image...but the hanger "s" definitely does not look like it belongs to the logo.

Yoshikun's design starts to look pretty cool, but then the "e" start to look like a "z". But it still flows better then #1.

Maybe u can play around a bit more with the hanger and find a solution which is more readable.

I didn't see the clothes-hanger in either logos at first, but when I read what I was looking for, I REALLY saw it. They're both pretty good. (I do think Yoshikun's is the best though, at first you see a clothes-hanger, then you realize it's an es.)
