great art direction indeed, but a lot of weak concepts though.
The core of a great ad is the idea, something what moves consumers "to go and buy" things, just having a great/trendy illustration is not enough.
here is an example of a truly great ad campaign (couldn't find an image, sorry):
in 1950 American Airlines started flying directly to Australia. Their ad agency came up with this - roadside billboard with one word on it "Sydney", written upside down. In the right bottom corner a headline and AA logo - Now direct flights to Australia.
And that is a great advertising, something what i can describe without even showing you an ad.
