Today we will show you a beautiful chalet in Quebec, Canada, a project by BOOM TOWN. This place looks amazing. Not only the house is modern and elegant, but the surroundings are breathtaking. The way they mixed wood, white elements and glass in the project created a cozy and unique environment. They certainly took advantage of the landscape and created a place that blends with its surroundings while offering inspiring views. Certainly a great place to live.
Make sure to check out BOOM TOWN website for further information about this and other inspiring projects. See you next week. :)
Description from the architects: This cottage is located near Lake Champlain, a few meters away from the American border at the height of the Phillipsburg Bird Sanctuary. The landscape is composed of two plateaus separated by a 10 meters sheer cliff and of a gentle slope access to the lake; a rare privilege for this area. This landform offers a wonderful sight line to the west facing this vast lake.
This three story cottage acts as an observation post on the natural settings. The vertical circulation in the cottage creates views both on the cliff, on which the building almost leans, and the lake; thinly veiled by tree trunks. The rooms are full of windows. Two large terraces, on the superior level on the south side allow the occupants to live in the landscape and to pursue their contemplation. Those terraces induce segmentation of the volumes already separated by a subtle offset between the south, north and central parts (where the stairs are). This play in the volume is accentuated by color variation or by installing wooded covering.
We found this house at Contemporist.
