Card Contest Voting - The Bullet Giveaway Result

September 12, 2008 from PauloGabriel's blog

Hey, guys!! It's been an awesome experience to have you guys sending so many card designs for our contest! It's pretty great to have many of you participating like that. Today, besides start voting, we're gonna announce the winner of the great The Bullet Tutorial!

Since the post is really long, I won't taking long about the winner of the sweet "The Bullet" Tutorial. It totally kicks butt. And the winner is:

  • royceaquatic

Congratulations, dude! And now the cards!! Here are many designs sent to our Flickr Pool, remember that it was a rule for this contest. So please, you guys may start voting on your best picks. No anonymous vote will be count, nor non-member votes, since it was a member-only contest. You guys cannot vote in your own design, you only must cheer about your own pieces, ok? You guys may choose 2 designs (leave a comment with the numbers you'll choose), and from the results, we'll name the winners. Cheers!! ;)

Simple Underwater Scene in Photoshop
A few weeks ago I received an email from a reader asking me if I could write a tutorial showing an underwater scene. I have written some tutorials on this subject like the 3D type made out of water or the underwater scene for Digital Arts in 2008. However I was watching TV this weekend when I started to watch I, Robot. The opening titles of that movie is awesome and really inspired me to write this tutorial.

The wallpaper of this week is an amazing design created by Rik Oostenbroek specially for the Abduzeedo 4th Anniversary. If you don't know Rik, he is a 20 year old self taught Dutch digital artist with more than 5 years of experience. Rik has done work for clients such as Mazda, Panasonic, Volkswagen, Palm and others, and we are super happy that he presented us with this beautiful wallpaper, and also a poster, but that is a little secret for another post. Book Suggestion: New Skateboard Graphics
Inspiration is everywhere, I believe everyone knows that but each one of us has some preferences or things that inspire more than others, in my case it's skateboard graphics. That's why the book suggestion of this week is about Skateboard Graphics. It's called New Skateboard Graphics. If you remember we ran a giveaway of this book 3 years ago, but I was checking it out again and had add to our book suggestion list.
