Design Resources - Brushes, Fonts and Icons

April 20, 2009 from PauloGabriel's blog

Some time ago I've posted a bunch of links to CSS tips and tricks. That day, one of our reads requested a post on design resources, and I just had to post some awesome links that will make designing much more fun for you.

Once more, I went thru my Delicous and found some great stuff I had saved there. Today I'm listing some Photoshop Brushes, Fonts and Icons. Probably next week, the next post on this brief series will be textures, photoshop actions and website templates. I hope you you enjoy these and just wait until next week for more!! Cheers. ;)

Underwater Scene in Pixelmator
In this tutorial, I will show you how to create an underwater scene as inspired by the opening titles of I, Robot, the movie. We will create a brush that will be used to add the bubbles and explore a technique to make your scenes look more realistic. The whole process is quite simple, and it takes less than 1 hour to go through all the steps. Step 1 Open Pixelmator and create a new document, the one I’m using is 1440×900 pixels. After that, fill the background layer with black.?

Book Suggestion: One Click: Jeff Bezos and the Rise of Amazon.com
The book suggestion of the week is about Jeff Bezos and the history of Amazon.com. One Click: Jeff Bezos and the Rise of Amazon.com is a really good book, very inspiring and motivating especially about believing on what you are doing and focus on the long term when doing things.
