I really like the design, the fusion between the "far west" and "clean" styles is great. Maybe the header is a little tall, but overall I think it's a great redesign :) Regarding the prize, I'd love the t-shirt!

I really like the new design (especially compared to the old one, which is admittedly not the greatest for what he wants to do)

I have a few gripes with it (on the "Outlaw Rating" picture, the ad section under it seems to have a highlight on the left that I can't make sense of; either the ad section is intended to be nestled in the container and is missing a border on the right or there is supposed to be a highlight there that seems to clash with the rest of the design), but, for the most part, it looks pretty well thought out.

The comments section looks nice (I'm a sucker for elements that appear to break into other elements, I think it helps relieve some of the "boxiness" that is inherent in websites)

The footer section also has a nice feel to it, and I like that there is a site search built in it (I find that I often want to use a search feature after I read articles and have to scroll all the way to the top to use it, which is annoying) but I'd suggest throwing a search in on the top menu as well, or somewhere else on the site, so that users don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom just to perform a search (kind of the opposite problem most sites have)

These are just my first impressions, I might come back later to do a more in-depth analysis, but I hope that this helps!

A vast improvement over the current design. I like the subtle textures used throughout the site. Look forward to seeing it go live.

Excellent new design! I had not visited the past website but after doing so...the improvements are fantastic. The old design I don't really like but this new one is very fitting to the name. It is also organized quite well and seems to be easy to understand where things are that I want to find. Great stuff.

Oh and the subscription to jumpchart sounds cool :)

The Sneak peek of Outlaw is great! I love all the subtle design throughout the whole site from comments to the bullet holes on the bottom left. The design is a knockout! Awesome job Danny!

Wow I really like the redesign. Playing up the whole outlaw old west theme to its greatest effect. Way to go.

I think it looks great, but I think it needs a better logo... something more unique and iconic. Right now it just looks like a free front from dafont with nothing done to it :P Otherwise, AWESOME!

I think the design is nice and clean. The typography is chosen well, also the alignment etc is really nicely done. It has some cool vector kind of looking art in the header, which has a desert look. I think the colours matches, except for the navigation bar green. I think this could be improved more by choosing a slightly darker green instead of such light green. The overal western style is nice but I think it's more a design a cafe website. It has that kind of western cafe look. So it also could be a community website. But a Design blog, well I think a design blog should look more arty....The title outlaw design blog is a cool title, also a visual nice title to see and it lets me guess what kind of design there will be on the site, OUTLAW design? What kind of design is that?

I hope you all can handle a critic coment instead of all those pleasing words.

Danny's new blog design is a vast improvement. I like IA an how the content has been nicely organized and categorized. Also a fan of the subtle lighting/color options for different sections to really direct the eyes and highlight important parts of the page.

I just wish he would change the logo type as well... actually i would like to see a new type treatment in there...

This guy have an experience in design, i've been following him via twitter. Im really excited about the relaunch, its looking really awesome with all the vectors and the navigation looks as well but i don't like font in the nav bar. Im very like the composition so clean and have a sense of art.

@Iaman The orange bar will be fixed at the bottom of the screen, so you will never have to scroll to get to the search box!

@Everyone else. yes, the type for the blog title sucks. Its is only temp. That will be changed soon.

Great design interface with great use of pixel shadows and highlights. neat. excellent color choice.

just to be nip-picking. whilst the bullet holes are a great idea, I thought it should really follow the direction of 'sun rays' so that it appears like the sun is shining through them, hence making it look nicer.

other than that, great job.

Nice textures, typography, and hierarchy. Very dark but and rustic but this up my alley, so I love it. Keep up the great work.

I like it for the most part - has some nice design elements that give it a laid back feel ( I particularly like the bullet holes in the bottom left). However I don't like the hat and gun graphic. Everything has such nice textures but that one looks a little clipart-ish in the screenshot.

I actually didn't know about this blog before but it looks like ill be adding it into my regular lunch break rotation! Sounds awesome

The new design is impressive, as it keeps clean the grunge style (very rare to find), very easy to navigate, it has been a real improvement, something hard to find in re-designs, because when the websites get a new design, normally its for their layout and some adjustments in their navigation, but this blog has been really modified, improving all of what it was (something hard to imagine).

I think the design is quite nice. I really like the use of the wood texture on the background. I agree with other posts that the type treatment should be changed, it detracts from the overall design, otherwise, I will it!

The layout is clear, well organized and complete, colors are perfect, and the comment's design is really beautiful. But... I don't like the far-west-style, I think it isn't original at all, I'm sorry...

I like the background design and the way the line of the hills gradually climbs to pull the viewers eye from left to right. Also like the depth achieved using vector graphics as well. Good color choices also.

Well it looks like a huge leap forward which is cool, I have been following the outlaw blog for a year or so now via rss and it looks like the redesign will put the site on the level of freelanceswitch as far as the look of quality.

I am a huge fan of tabs they always seem to be good for ux so nice work.

I like the look. It's clean and still has that outlaw them to it. I can't wait to see what kind of new tuts and posts are headed our way. I'd love to get my hands on the Go Media Vector Packs.

New Design:
Color scheme is apt and perfectly balanced.
Typography is also well chosen.
Behind the scenes, the CSS and HTML are tight.
Great use of textures to give it that rugged out-west flavor.

The only thing that buggggs me is the vast amount to valuable whitespace or real estate given to just the logo area. We're talkin' what 300-400px on just logo? I think this is a flaw. On the other hand is pretty.

I've always been a fan of clean design and backgrounds always seem to be where folks make the most mess. I love the new backing compared to the tiled text - it lets the eyes rest a bit more and refocuses the viewers attention to the content. The brown and tan color scheme adds to the affect by creating a warmer palette for the content compared to the slightly stark red/white/black theme.
